Emile Smith Rowe has been rewarded for his impressive Arsenal form with a first
call-up to the England senior squad after the withdrawals of Marcus Rashford and
James Ward-Prowse.

The 21-year-old was initially overlooked by Gareth Southgate for the World Cup
qualifiers against Albania and San Marino, and had been due to join Lee
Carsley’s under-21s for Thursday’s European Championship qualifier against the
Czech Republic at Turf Moor. But the midfielder was promoted by Southgate on
Monday and has reported for international duty at St George’s Park.

MANCHESTER CITY OWNER SHEIKH MANSOUR ATTENDS CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL

Manchester City’s owner, Sheikh Mansour, attended his team’s Champions League
final victory against Internazionale on Saturday evening. The sheikh was present
in Istanbul as City won Europe’s top club prize for the first time.

It was only the second competitive game he has attended since his investment
vehicle, the Abu Dhabi United Group, purchased City in 2008. He missed the 2021
final that City lost to Chelsea in Porto, but made arrangements to be in Turkey.
Khaldoon al-Mubarak, City’s chairman, was also at the showpiece match at the
Ataturk Olympic Stadium.

The only previous City match Sheikh Mansour attended was almost 13 years ago
when he visited the Etihad Stadium to witness a 3-0 victory over Liverpoo…

aborted takeoff from an airport in Ypsilanti, crashed through a chain link fence
beyond the end of the runway, and came to rest in a field beyond a surface road
and a ditch beyond the airport boundary. The plane was all trashed up, but
everyone aboard survived. The National Transportation Safety Board this week
released their report on the accident, and, my friends, it is terrifying. The
pilot of the aircraft, a man named Mark Radloff, made the decision to abandon
takeoff after the plane reached “V1,” which is a speed that is determined by a
conditions-dependent equation, and is described as “the maximum speed in the
takeoff by which a rejected takeoff must be initiated to ensure that a safe stop
