FLAT BROKE – OR HOW TO FIND VALUE IN THE UK GILT CURVE?



The UK gilt yield curve has become fully inverted in medium and long maturities,
resulting in no yield pick-up but rather a yield discount between 1-3 years and
7-10 years and between 1-3 years and 20+ years. Looking ahead, if the UK yield
curve bear flattened during recent policy tightening, it might disinvert, or
change shape when the BoE eases.
