DRIVING RECORD IN MICHIGAN
In Michigan, people’s driving records are important and weigh a lot into
important life decisions. A driving record is a history of someone’s traffic
violations, traffic crashes, failures to appear in court (FAC) and Failures to
comply with the judgment (FCJ). The driving record also includes not at-fault
crashes, at-fault crashes with a matching conviction and any convictions
relating to a driver training course (Michigan.gov). Knowing what types of
events effect a driving record can help people understand how the system in
Michigan works, to keep their records clean.
First point is to understand the points! The point system is set up so that
there are up to 6 points. Each offense has a point value. Points stay on your
record for two years from the date you are found responsible for the
violation (www.co.monroe.mi.us/)
Alcohol related offenses such as driving under the influence (DUI) or impaired
driving cost 4 to 6 points to your record. The Michigan Vehicle Code Section
257.625 explains all of the aspects of the laws that pertain to drunk driving or
other alcohol related offenses. For these offenses the points are not the only
punishment to the offender. Community service hours, imprisonment, Suspension of
license, fines, probation, and these payments would have to be made no later
than 30 days (legislature.mi.gov/).
Michigan Law Requires driver’s License suspensions for drug convictions, even if
you were not driving at the time of the offense. Calling a Taxi or Ride Share
service will ultimately cost less than going through court and losing your
license or ruining your driving record. Selecting a designated driver or calling
someone for a ride is probably the best option in that scenario (Michigan.gov).
Some of these violations have mixed terms. Reckless driving and DUI are
sometimes called wet reckless (drivinglaws.org).
All in all, there are a lot of things that affect people’s driving records. You
can always access your driving records from the Secretary of State. If there are
any issues with your driving record, there is a new program in place called
“Road to Restoration” that can help people not get their licenses suspended and
have some of the violations wiped off the record. Once someone has cleared their

WORKING IN INSURANCE
It is really difficult to find a good job right now, let alone a career. Working
in insurance can be a great career for anyone who is looking for a stable income
and an even better atmosphere. Finding those features in one place is a hardship
that many people face. Luckily, LA Insurance can provide employees the

first, there is a process that needs to be followed to get there. This process
includes 5 simple steps to getting an insurance license in the state of
Michigan. At LA Insurance you only need to be licensed in Property and Casualty
Insurance. A license in life and health insurance is not necessary, as LA
Insurance sells Auto Insurance, Boat Insurance, RV Insurance and Renter’s
Insurance.
Steps to become a licensed insurance agent:
1. Michigan insurance pre-license education course
2. * Minimum of 18 years old
* 40 hour minimum in a pre-licensing course
* Department of Insurance and Financial Services has a list of the courses
available nearest you
3. Michigan insurance license exam
4. * Exam costs $41 USD
* 150 questions long
* 150 minutes to complete the exam
* Minimum passing score is 74%
5. Michigan insurance license application
6. * Application will be accepted or denied within 14 days of the submission
7. Application review
8. * Background checks and fingerprints taken before license is issued
9. Apply to LA Insurance!
Once you get your license and a wonderful new career with LA Insurance, there
are some things you must do to keep your license. This includes continuing
credits and renewing certain licenses if you got more than one. 24 credit hours
are required every two years and are expected to be completed 30 days before the
expiration of the license. There is no fee to pay when you renew the license as
long as you are meeting the requirements. Gaining and maintaining your insurance

DAMAGE OF INVASIVE SPECIES
In the great lakes of Michigan there are many things you can find in the water;
some are good and some, scary. A few of the things that can be found in
Michigan’s great lakes are boats, jet skis, floating tubes, plants, fish, but
most of all, invasive species. Invasive species are species of organisms that
cause harm in environments where they do not belong. Some of the invasive
species that live in the Michigan Great Lakes have been taking a toll on the
economy and the ecosystem. According to the United States Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA), there are 25 species of invasive fish living in the
great lakes, including zebra mussels. The EPA also states that there are 7
different species of invasive plants that are cutting off the food supply for
wildlife in the area and promoting erosion.
With all these invasive species being able to infiltrate boats and other water
vehicles, it’s important to know how to manage them and keep them in check. The
types of fish and plants that are invasive species create a lot of damage for
owners of boats, jet skis, and other Personal watercrafts. Damage includes
jammed propellers, broken propellers, obstructed water lines, and pump
failures (Corke, boatus.com). All these damages are really expensive to manage
and keep up. To avoid these damages to a boat or other personal watercrafts,
there are a few things that make it easier.
Cleaning the boat regularly is the first easy way to keep invasive species from
damaging the boat. If there is mud or plants that have stuck to your boat, they
must be removed and cleaned off the surface until it is smooth. Another solution

DRIVING RECORD IN MICHIGAN
In Michigan, people’s driving records are important and weigh a lot into
important life decisions. A driving record is a history of someone’s traffic
violations, traffic crashes, failures to appear in court (FAC) and Failures to
comply with the judgment (FCJ). The driving record also includes not at-fault
crashes, at-fault crashes with a matching conviction and any convictions
relating to a driver training course (Michigan.gov). Knowing what types of
events effect a driving record can help people understand how the system in
Michigan works, to keep their records clean.
First point is to understand the points! The point system is set up so that
there are up to 6 points. Each offense has a point value. Points stay on your
record for two years from the date you are found responsible for the

driving cost 4 to 6 points to your record. The Michigan Vehicle Code Section
257.625 explains all of the aspects of the laws that pertain to drunk driving or

relating to a driver training course (Michigan.gov). Knowing what types of
events effect a driving record can help people understand how the system in
Michigan works, to keep their records clean.
First point is to understand the points! The point system is set up so that
there are up to 6 points. Each offense has a point value. Points stay on your
record for two years from the date you are found responsible for the
violation (www.co.monroe.mi.us/)
Alcohol related offenses such as driving under the influence (DUI) or impaired
driving cost 4 to 6 points to your record. The Michigan Vehicle Code Section
257.625 explains all of the aspects of the laws that pertain to drunk driving or
other alcohol related offenses. For these offenses the points are not the only
punishment to the offender. Community service hours, imprisonment, Suspension of
license, fines, probation, and these payments would have to be made no later
than 30 days (legislature.mi.gov/).
Michigan Law Requires driver’s License suspensions for drug convictions, even if
you were not driving at the time of the offense. Calling a Taxi or Ride Share
service will ultimately cost less than going through court and losing your
license or ruining your driving record. Selecting a designated driver or calling
someone for a ride is probably the best option in that scenario (Michigan.gov).
Some of these violations have mixed terms. Reckless driving and DUI are
sometimes called wet reckless (drivinglaws.org).
All in all, there are a lot of things that affect people’s driving records. You
can always access your driving records from the Secretary of State. If there are
any issues with your driving record, there is a new program in place called
“Road to Restoration” that can help people not get their licenses suspended and

20 THINGS TO DO IN TRAFFIC
In Michigan we have two different seasons on the road: winter and construction.
Either it’s snowing and everyone is driving 25 mph or there is construction on
every imaginable route home, and you’re stuck in traffic. Being stuck in traffic
doesn’t have to be such a bad thing though. There are so many things you can do
while stuck in traffic to make the time go by faster. These suggestions are
likely to have you start to ENJOY being in traffic. Making a positive out of a
negative experience is the best way to approach being stuck in traffic.
1. Listen to a podcast
2. Eat some snacks
3. Put on or fix your makeup
4. Make funny faces in the mirror
5. Listen to a new playlist or new type of music
6. Make a playlist of karaoke songs to practice
7. Think of solutions to your life problems
8. Talk to someone on the phone on speaker
9. Play the drums on your steering wheel
10. Plan out the rest of your day
11. Play the alphabet game by finding something starting with each letter
12. Organize your front seats (clean up time)
13. Find a comedian that you really like to listen to
14. Organize your purse or wallet
15. Listen to an audiobook
16. Do some breathing exercises
