ONLINE NHS REPEAT PRESCRIPTION SERVICE FAQS


IS THIS SERVICE FREE?

Yes! We cover the cost of our service features, including delivery, to ensure
our service is free for our patients.

If you usually pay for your NHS prescriptions, you will still need to pay the
normal NHS fee - which is £9.35) per item. If you are exempt from this payment
or have a pre-payment certificate, then you will not be charged. Just tell us
when you register why you're entitled to free NHS prescription medication.


WHERE CAN MY MEDICATION BE DELIVERED TO?

Your medication can be delivered to any address in the UK - wherever suits you
best. This can be your home, work, to a neighbour or member of your family.

Delivery is free and you can choose to have it posted through your letterbox,
sent signed for or you can choose a safe place for Royal Mail to leave your
parcel if you're not home. In some cases, a signature will be needed, for
example if you are ordering controlled drugs or refrigerated items.

You can view or change your delivery settings in your account at any time.


HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY MEDICATION?

We recommend ordering your repeat prescription at least 5 working days before
you need it. This gives your GP enough time to approve it and for us to deliver
it to you.

There are several ways you can contact us:

DOES USING PHARMACY2U COST THE NHS EXTRA, COMPARED TO USING ANOTHER PHARMACY?

No. In fact, using our service costs the NHS less than using traditional
methods*

*Because we dispense from one central pharmacy facility, this means there are
less location-based repayment fees for the NHS to pay.


IS THERE A PHARMACIST AVAILABLE TO ANSWER ANY QUERIES I MAY HAVE?

Of course! Our UK based pharmacists are always just a phone call or email away
if you have a medication query or ever need help with managing your medication.


WHAT IS AN NHS REPEAT PRESCRIPTION?

An NHS repeat prescription is an instruction by your doctor to prescribe the
medication you need to treat a specific medication condition on a regular basis.
This means your doctor has given permission for you to be given this medication
in future without having to make an appointment every time you run out.


HOW TO ORDER AN NHS REPEAT PRESCRIPTION ONLINE?

You can now order your repeat prescription online through websites like
Pharmacy2U or the NHS app saving you time picking up paper prescriptions from
your GP surgery.

You can register with us. We'll ask you to confirm what medication you need and
when you'll need it. We'll arrange for your usual GP to approve your
prescription. Once approved, your prescription will be sent to our team of
pharmacists. They'll check and dispense your medication before posting it you by
Royal Mail.


HOW MUCH DOES THIS PRESCRIPTION COST?

The current prescription charge is £9.35) per item. You may be entitled to free
prescriptions if you meet specific NHS criteria. For example, if you are aged 60
and over, on income support or under 16 you are entitled to free prescriptions.

WHY CAN I TRUST PHARMACY2U?

delivery of medicines, we're made up of qualified pharmacists, dispensing

IS DELIVERY ALWAYS FREE?

Yes it is. Delivery for our NHS repeat prescription service is always free of
charge.


WHO DELIVERS MY MEDICINES?

Your medicines will be delivered by Royal Mail in plain, discreet packaging.
We'll let you know when we despatch your medicines and Royal Mail may send you
an email or text message on the day of delivery to let you know when your parcel
will arrive.


WHAT IF I'M OUT WHEN MY DELIVERY ARRIVES?

We can deliver to any address - your home, your place of work, to a carer or
neighbour. You can choose a safe place if you are not home to accept delivery or
if they still can't deliver, a card will be left so you can arrange re-delivery
for free.


CAN I STILL NOMINATE PHARMACY2U IF I HAVE ALREADY NOMINATED ANOTHER PHARMACY?

Yes. The NHS EPS service allows you to nominate where your GP sends your
prescription at any time, making it more convenient for you.


I'D RATHER FILL IN A PAPER FORM TO REGISTER, CAN I DO THIS?

WHAT IF MY SURGERY DOESN'T ALLOW PHARMACIES TO ORDER MY PRESCRIPTIONS ON MY
BEHALF?

Some surgeries may not allow any third party or pharmacy to order prescriptions
on behalf of their patients. Please call us on 0113 265 0222 to check this for
you, but if this is the case - don't worry! We'll still remind you when you need
to order your prescription. Simply order as normal and your doctor will send us
your prescription electronically. We'll deliver your medicines to you, for free
to your chosen address.
