MINERAL EXPLORATION

Mineral exploration is the process of finding ores (commercially viable
concentrations of minerals) to mine. Mineral exploration is a much more
intensive, organized and professional form of mineral prospecting and, though it
frequently uses the services of prospecting, the process of mineral exploration
on the whole is much more involved.

ZONE (PLAY)

Zone is a French-language three-act play written by French-Canadian author
Marcel Dubé. Written when Dubé was 21 and based on memories of his
childhood,Zone revolves around a gang of teenaged Québécois criminals who sell
contraband cigarettes, and the internal conflicts that ultimately tear the group
apart. The title "Zone" refers to the fact that each of the smugglers are stuck
in a zone of society from which it is almost impossible to escape.

CAST

The original production of Zone was directed by Robert Rivard.

Monique Miller as Ciboulette Guy Godin as Tarzan Robert Rivard as Passe-Partout
Raymond Lévesque as Moineau Hubert Loiselle as Tit-Noir Marcel Dubé as Johny
Jean Duceppe as Ledoux Jean-Louis Paris as Police Chief Yves Létourneau as Roger

CHARACTERS

Ciboulette: Unloved by her parents, Ciboulette is the youngest group member at
16 years of age, and the only female in the play. She is in love with Tarzan but
does not reveal this to him until the end. Her character's naïve hope for a
relationship with Tarzan embodies the "extreme idealism of youth". Ciboulette's
character is tragically punished for standing up for love.

ZONE (BAND)

Zone was an all-female pop rock band started in Sapporo, Japan in 1999. Although
it initially started as a dance group, they turned to an all-female band. Zone
has been categorized in a new genre called "bandol" (a portmanteau of the words
band and idol). The band was started and managed by Studio RunTime and released
their first single, "Good Days", under the major record label Sony Records, on
February 7, 2001. The group has officially ended on March 2, 2013.

Their most famous song is "Secret Base (Kimi ga Kureta Mono)", released on
August 8, 2001. The single sold about 744,000 copies on Japanese Oricon charts.

HISTORY

Zone started off with eight members in 1997, then reduced to six and finally to
four – Miyu Nagase, Mizuho Saito, Maiko Sakae, and Takayo Ookoshi – by the time
they released their first indie disc in 1999.

Tadayuki Ominami, a representative of Sony Records, noticed that the crowd
reaction to the group's debut concert was particularly enthusiastic. Initially,
Zone was solely focused on singing and dancing. Ominami watched a live video of
the band playing with instruments at the KomeKome Klub and felt that, due to the
overabundance of dance groups, Zone had the makings of a breakthrough act,
provided they could play their instruments as well as sing and dance.

This is an excerpt from the BTN story DEEP SEA EXPLORATION
http://www.abc.net.au/btn/story/s4530706.htm The Ocean is actually split up
into 3 zones. The first is the Sunlight Zone. That's where a lot of the most
well-known fish live and is about as far down as most humans can go. At 200
metres, you reach the Twilight Zone, where light starts to disappear. At more
than 1000 metres down, sunlight disappears completely. This is the Midnight
Zone. It's a cold, dark place that we still don't know much about. It's also
where huge, freaky sea life starts appearing, like the giant squid. But it's
still not even close to the bottom in most places on earth. The lowest point
is a whopping 11,000 metres down. That's about the same depth as stacking 36
Eiffel towers on top of each other. That place is...

NASA has officially announced plans to create a new time zone for the Moon,
marking a significant step in humanity’s renewed efforts to establish a
long-term presence on Earth’s satellite. With several lunar missions on the
horizon, including NASA’s Artemis program and international space agencies
planning their own expeditions, the need for a standardized time system on
the Moon has become essential. Why a Lunar Time Zone? As space exploration
moves beyond Earth’s orbit, the complexities of coordinating time across
different missions grow exponentially. Currently, most lunar missions rely on
Earth-based time zones, which can lead to confusion and inefficiencies,
particularly when different nations and organizations are involved. NASA’s
goal is to establish a universal time system on the...

This is an excerpt from the BTN story DEEP SEA EXPLORATION
http://www.abc.net.au/btn/story/s4530706.htm The Ocean is actually split up into
3 zones.
The lowest point is
a whopping 11,000 metres down. That's about the same depth as stacking 36 Eiffel
towers on top of each other. That place is called Challenger Deep in the Mariana
Trench.

NASA has officially announced plans to create a new time zone for the Moon,
marking a significant step in humanity’s renewed efforts to establish a
long-term presence on Earth’s satellite. With several lunar missions on the
horizon, including NASA’s Artemis program and international space agencies
planning their own expeditions, the need for a standardized time system on the
Moon has become essential. Why a Lunar Time Zone? As space exploration moves
beyond Earth’s orbit, the complexities of coordinating time across different
missions grow exponentially. Currently, most lunar missions rely on Earth-based
time zones, which can lead to confusion and inefficiencies, particularly when
different nations and organizations are involved. NASA’s goal is to establish a
universal time system on the Moon to streamline operations and improve
collaboration between agencies. Key Challenges The Moon’s unique environment
presents several challenges in developing a time system. Unlike Earth, which has
a 24-hour day, the Moon’s day-night cycle lasts about 29.5 Earth days. This
extended "lunar day" means that traditional timekeeping methods won’t directly
apply, and a new system must account for the slower rotation. Furthermore, the
lack of a magnetic field and atmosphere affects how atomic clocks—used in
precise timekeeping—operate in space. Global Collaboration NASA is working
closely with international partners, including the European Space Agency (ESA),
to develop the lunar time zone. The collaboration aims to create a system that
can be adopted universally by all countries and private companies involved in
lunar exploration. Establishing this standard will be crucial not just for
scientific research but also for future lunar colonies, mining operations, and
space tourism. Preparing for Future Lunar Missions With NASA’s Artemis program
set to return humans to the Moon by 2025, the establishment of a lunar time zone
is seen as a critical infrastructure project. As the number of missions to the
Moon increases, having a consistent and reliable time system will ensure smooth
communication, navigation, and coordination between various parties. The Future
of Lunar Timekeeping While the specifics of the new lunar time zone are still
being finalized, the development underscores the growing importance of the Moon
as a destination for exploration and potential habitation. As humanity prepares
to establish a permanent presence on the Moon, having its own time zone will be
a fundamental step in the process.

NASA’s
goal is to establish a universal time system on the Moon to streamline
operations and improve collaboration between agencies. Key Challenges The
Moon’s unique environment presents several challenges in developing a time
system. Unlike Earth, which has a 24-hour day, the Moon’s day-night cycle
lasts about 29.5 Earth days. This extended "lunar day" means that traditional
timekeeping methods won’t directly apply, and a new system must account for
the slower rotation. Furthermore, the lack of a magnetic field and atmosphere
affects how atomic clocks—used in precise timekeeping—operate in space.
Global Collaboration NASA is working closely with international partners,
including the European Space Agency (ESA), to develop the lunar time zone.
The collaboration aims to create a system that can be adopted universally by
all countries and private companies involved in lunar exploration.
Establishing this standard will be crucial not just for scientific research
but also for future lunar colonies, mining operations, and space tourism.
Preparing for Future Lunar Missions With NASA’s Artemis program set to return
humans to the Moon by 2025, the establishment of a lunar time zone is seen as
a critical infrastructure project. As the number of missions to the Moon
increases, having a consistent and reliable time system will ensure smooth
communication, navigation, and coordination between various parties. The
Future of Lunar Timekeeping While the specifics of the new lunar time zone
are still being finalized, the development underscores the growing importance
of the Moon as a destination for exploration and potential habitation. As
humanity prepares to establish a permanent presence on the Moon, having its
own time zone will be a fundamental step in the process.

This is an excerpt from the BTN story DEEP SEA EXPLORATION http:// www. abc.
net. au/ btn/ story/ s4530706. htm The Ocean is actually split up into 3
zones. The first is the Sunlight Zone. That's where a lot of the most
well-known fish live and is about as far down as most humans can go. At 200
metres, you reach the Twilight Zone, where light starts to disappear. At
more than 1000 metres down, sunlight disappears completely. This is the
Midnight Zone. It's a cold, dark place that we still don't know much about.
It's also where huge, freaky sea life starts appearing, like the giant squid.
But it's still not even close to the bottom in most places on earth. The
lowest point is a whopping 11,000 metres down. That's about the same depth as
stacking 36 Eiffel towers on top of each other. That place is called
Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench.

NASA has officially announced plans to create a new time zone for the Moon,
marking a significant step in humanity’s renewed efforts to establish
a long-term presence on Earth’s satellite. With several lunar missions on
the horizon, including NASA’s Artemis program and international space
agencies planning their own expeditions, the need for a standardized time
system on the Moon has become essential. Why a Lunar Time Zone? As space
exploration moves beyond Earth’s orbit, the complexities of
coordinating time across different missions grow exponentially.
Currently, most lunar missions rely on Earth-based time zones, which can lead
to confusion and inefficiencies, particularly when different
nations and organizations are involved. NASA’s goal is to establish a
universal time system on the Moon to streamline operations and improve
collaboration between agencies. Key Challenges The Moon’s unique
environment presents several challenges in developing a time system.
Unlike Earth, which has a 24-hour day, the Moon’s day-night cycle lasts about
29.5 Earth days. This extended "lunar day" means that traditional
timekeeping methods won’t directly apply, and a new system must account
for the slower rotation. Furthermore, the lack of a magnetic field and
atmosphere affects how atomic clocks—used in precise
timekeeping—operate in space. Global Collaboration NASA is working
closely with international partners, including the European Space
Agency (ESA), to develop the lunar time zone. The collaboration aims to
create a system that can be adopted universally by all countries and
private companies involved in lunar exploration. Establishing this
standard will be crucial not just for scientific research but also for
future lunar colonies, mining operations, and space tourism. Preparing for
Future Lunar Missions With NASA’s Artemis program set to return humans to
the Moon by 2025, the establishment of a lunar time zone is seen as a
critical infrastructure project. As the number of missions to the Moon
increases, having a consistent and reliable time system will ensure
smooth communication, navigation, and coordination between various
parties. The Future of Lunar Timekeeping While the specifics of the new
lunar time zone are still being finalized, the development underscores
the growing importance of the Moon as a destination for exploration and
potential habitation. As humanity prepares to establish a permanent
presence on the Moon, having its own time zone will be a fundamental step
in the process.
