 * “OC” - original character that an artist makes or owns the rights to.

 * “Mary Sue” or “Gary Sue” - OCs that are overpowered and have no flaws what so
   ever. It is a bit of an older term commonly used in the 2010s.

 * “Adoptables” - OCs that artist create and sell the ownership to others.

 * “Sona” - an original character that is a representation of the artist that
   made it. Sometimes people will commission other artist to make a sona for
   them or buy an adoptables to have as their.

 * “Kin” or “Kinning” - characters that someone relate to or act like.

 * “Watermark” - an image over a piece of media that shows ownership. Some
   people just sign their name or tag instead. Even if you don’t have a
   watermark on your art, because you created it you own the rights to that
   piece of media.

 * “TOS” - terms of service. Usually used for commissions.

 * “Fandoms” - fan groups; a group of people who are fans of a particular
   subject or piece of media.

 * “Ships” - romantic relationships of 2 fictional characters (usually from
   shows, games, movies). Some people ship themselves with other fictional
   characters.

 * “NSFW” - not safe for work; fancy way of saying porn or sexually suggestive
   content.

 * “DTIYS” - draw this in your style.

 * “ACC” - art commentary community; it is mostly drama.

 * “DNI” - do not interact; a list of people that the person does not want to
   interact with. Usually it is inevitable that these people will bump into
   others who they don’t want to interact with.

 * “Triggers” - a list of sensitive, controversial, and other topics that may
   trigger negative emotions with in that individual.

 * “TW” - trigger warning; a list put above usually a post to warn of sensitive
   contents within the post.

 * “Vent art” - art that an artist makes to let out negative emotions and use as
   a coping mechanism. It is usually better to not vent in general publicly
   online. It may bring unwanted attention from people who may not have your
   best interest, however, it has worked out for some people.

 * “/srs” - serious; usually at the end of a post to make clear that the person
   is asking a sincere question or making a sincere statement.

 * “/jk” - just kidding; usually at the end of a post to make clear that the
   person is telling a joke or using sarcasm.
