Every year, thousands of volunteers donate their time, talents and dollars to
make a difference in the lives of homeless families and individuals.

We are rebuilding lives, one family at a time, by giving them a home, as well as
the skills and resources they need to live the life they deserve.



ENDING HOMELESSNESS


GET HELP

We helped more 2,600 individuals and families last year. We offer housing,
support services, and resources to families and individuals.



OUR IMPACT


PREVENTING AND ENDING HOMELESSNESS

In the 2023 Point in Time Count (PIT) of homeless individuals there were 171,000
homeless people in California.
We provided 4,997 people with assistance last year in Contra Costa, Solano and
Sacramento counties.
The number of California homeless persons grew by 32,000 post pandemic.
30% of the people we serve are in households with at least one child.
Post pandemic, more than 1.5 million California renters are at risk for
eviction.
We served 1,606 children last year and gave them a place to sleep.
A majority of Contra Costa County low-income renters spend more than 50% of
income on rent, leaving little for food, health care and transportation.
We gave an average of $7,004 per household to help with housing costs.

   Dewana is 32-year-old single mother with a 15-month old daughter. They became
   homeless after an aunt they lived with passed away, and they were not able to
   remain with relatives.

   Jazmin is a 31-year-old single mom with three sons, ages 10, 9 and 6. She did
   not have friends or family in the area and came to Mountain View Family
   Shelter in September of 2022.
