LOCATION Will be conducted virtually DATE January 13-16, 2021 (Begins on Wednesday evening and ends after Saturday Noon) WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Render is for those that are thinking about full-time ministry as a potential option in their life or those that feel called by God to go into full-time vocational ministry or those that are attending seminary. Coming to Render does not obligate anyone to go into full- time vocational ministry. But it can affirm the attendees of God's call them. It is an opportunity to learn and prepare for full-time ministry. DISTINCTIVE OF RENDER There is a low mentor-attendee ratio, about 1:3. The mentors are pastors and ministers involved in local church ethnic ministry. They are able to give the Render attendees a realistic picture of what ethnic church ministry involves. Because Render targets a specialized audience, it is held only once every three years. OPPORTUNITIES WORSHIP Engage in God-honoring worship. MESSAGES Listen to messages delivered by a seasoned American-Born Chinese speaker from an ethnic church. WORKSHOPS Attend workshops designed to help them prepare for full-time ministry. MENTORSHIP Have one-on-one time with a mentor to help them through the process of seeking God's will. FELLOWSHIP Fellowship with like-minded believers that are considering full-time vocational ministry. WORKSHOPS DOES THE SHOE FIT? FINDING THE RIGHT SEMINARY FOR YOU Not all seminaries are the same. This workshop will not tell you the prestigious seminaries to attend, but will guide you to find the seminary that meets your theological, financial and community needs. STRENGTH FINDERS DISCOVERING YOUR STRENGTHS IN MINISTRY In ministry, we often devote more time to fixing our shortcomings than developing our strengths. This workshop will apply the popular corporate tool - the Strength Finder assessment - to motivate and mobilize your ministry based on strengths not weaknesses. WHO WATCHES THE WATCHMAN? SOUL CARE FOR THE MINISTER In the midst of a full time schedule of caring and disicpling others, one’s own spiritual needs are often set aside. This workshop will guide you to be responsible and accountable for your own spiritual growth. NOT A STEPPING STONE: YOUR CALLING TO YOUTH MINISTRY The common perception is that youth workers age out of their ministry and become pastors. This workshop will discuss your personal calling to youth ministry and the need for life-long youth ministers. SIDE BY SIDE: MEN AND WOMEN PARTNERING IN MINISTRY While the theological battles still go on concerning women in leadership, this workshop will focus on the practical aspects of men and women serving together with a look towards future developments in the Asian American church.
