STORY

In the wake of the devastating Coromandel Express train tragedy, our hearts ache
for the innocent lives lost and the countless families torn apart by this tragic
incident. As hundreds are being reported dead and 900+ injured, we must come
together as a compassionate society to provide support, relief, and a glimmer of
hope to those who have been affected by this unimaginable disaster.

the Income Tax Act (India), & 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (USA). 

The rising death toll and devastation

On June 2, The Coromandel Express, which was running at 127 Km/hr collided with
a goods train and several coaches of the Bangalore-Howrah Express in Balasore
district, Odisha and derailed on the main line. This devastating accident has
claimed 300+ lives (numbers are rising unfortunately) and has injured 900+
people. Families have been shattered, dreams have been crushed, and communities
are left grappling with grief and uncertainty. The sheer magnitude of this
tragedy has left scars that will remain for generations to come.

The stories from the accident are heartbreaking‌. Survivors remember the coaches
shaking and rising high up in the air and then crashing on the tracks with many
people dying instantly and hundreds of others being badly injured. Immediate
relief, medical attention, first aid, sustenance, and rehabilitation are
critical for supporting survivors and the families of the deceased during this
challenging time.

Standing beside innocent lives

Now is the time for all of us to extend our hands, hearts, and resources to
those whose lives have been turned upside down by this horrific event. Your
generous donation will support our NGO partners working on ground and directly
contribute to the recovery and rehabilitation of the victims of the accident.

Emergency Relief: immediate assistance in the form of medical aid, food, water,
and shelter will be provided to those who have lost everything in this tragedy.

Rebuilding Lives: funds will be utilised to assist in the long-term
rehabilitation efforts. This will include providing educational support to
children who have lost their parents, vocational training for the adults to
regain their livelihoods, and assistance in finding permanent housing.
