WE NEED YOU!

Want to kick off 2024 with a bang? If you've ever wanted to contribute to our
community then there is no time like the present. Below you can find all the
positions available and a reminder of what they entail:

LEAGUE ADMINISTRATORS

League Admins are responsible for the running of both the Sixes and Highlander
seasonal leagues as well as off-season cups and events. From handling match
disputes, to seasonal meetings, you will be integral in the successful
continuation of ozfortress.

LEAGUE ADVISORS

Have you heard of the shadow government? Well we don't have that but this is
probably the closest thing. Advisors assist League Admins in decision-making
around seedings, mercenary requests, transfers and proposed changes for both
Sixes and Highlander. We are also looking for out-of-region advisors that can
assist our team in the decision making processes listed above for players
outside of Australia / New Zealand.

ANTI-CHEAT

The Anti-cheat team is responsible for ensuring all players within ozfortress
are playing fairly and without the assistance of a third-party client. Keen eyes
and experienced players are wanted for accurate and fair judgements on all
cases.

RUBY ON RAILS & SOURCEMOD/SOURCEPAWN DEVELOPERS

We're looking for developers for not only our site but also our servers. For the
website, developers need to have a working knowledge of Ruby on Rails. As for
Source Plugin Developer's, we'll be looking to possibly make modifications and
additions to our servers to improve website-server integration.

MEDIA TEAM

The media team is slowly but surely coming to fruition. The goal is to use this
team to create season trailers, announcements, frag movies - the possibilities
are endless. We're mainly looking for editors, but will be looking to expand the
teams' capabilities to produce and bring our ideas to reality!

ART TEAM

Responsible for much of what you see artistically from us, the Art Team has been
underutilized in the past, and we're looking to expand. With bigger events
planned for 2024 and beyond, expanding our Art Team with talented artists and
designers will be crucial.

SIXES AUTUMN '24 MAP VOTE

To support players having their voice heard, we have broken the Sixes
post-season poll into smaller, more focused polls which we will release over the
coming weeks.

SIXES AUTUMN '24 MAP VOTE

For Sixes Autumn '24 (S39), we have elected to adopt single transferable voting
(STV) to improve overall community satisfaction with the map pool. In STV, you
rank maps based on how much you want to play them, not how likely you think they
are to be chosen. CGP Grey has a great video to help understand how this works.

HOW TO VOTE

Using the template provided, you create a thread here. Your thread will only be
visible to ozfortress administrators.

Before voting, we recommend reviewing the pool of valid maps here which includes
pictures for maps not played this season. Additionally, you should review the
FAQ here and view an example vote submission here.

SIXES & HIGHLANDER SPRING '23 - SEASON AWARD VOTING

Hey everyone, voting is now open for the Season Awards. For those who aren't
unfamiliar with the Season Awards, nothing huge has changed from seasons prior
to last season. As always, votes must be sent to the specified admins via
Discord DMs. Please read through the appropriate thread for your division
carefully as we have made some changes to the formatting in the threads. Voting
closes on the 30th of December 2023 at 11:59pm AEDT via one of your team
captains. Failing to do this will prevent your votes from being counted.

Only captains to vote. Please submit with 3 votes for EVERY category (bar
Premier highlander who only need to place 2 votes in every category except
Casters & MVP were 3 votes are required). You only have to do the division your
team participated in.

For those who haven't voted before, we've gone ahead and reformatted our Voting
Threads (linked below) and brought them into the modern age, with some quality
of life changes. We've made the process a little clearer, added some FAQs and
given you some quick links to click for contacting the specified admins via
Discord more easily. When submitting your votes, feel free to leave any ideas or
suggestions you have with that admin, or if you ran into any issues whilst
preparing your votes.

The Season Awards process is something we'll be looking to slowly innovate on as
time goes on. Last season we tried a new voting implementation using Google
Forms, but ended up finding it to be far more difficult and time consuming for
us to setup, with player feedback suggesting that it was also far more time
consuming and confusing for them. We likely won't be moving away from the
tried-and-tested process of old anytime soon, but we will be looking to improve
on it where we can.
