Update

As announced via QPP listserv, we’re applying our automatic MIPS extreme and
uncontrollable circumstances policy to individual MIPS eligible clinicians for
the 2021 performance year in response to the ongoing COVID-19 public health
emergency. Individual MIPS eligible clinicians will have all 4 performance
categories reweighted to 0% and receive a neutral payment adjustment in 2023
unless they submit data. This policy doesn’t apply to groups, virtual groups or
APM Entities. Learn More.

MIPS FACILITY-BASED SCORING NOT AVAILABLE FOR PERFORMANCE YEAR (PY) 2021

PERFORMANCE YEAR 2021

In response to the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE),
the Hospital VBP Program will not be calculating total performance scores for
Fiscal Year (FY) 2022.

As a result, facility-based clinicians and groups will need to submit data for
the quality performance category. Clinicians without available measures can
submit an Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstances Application, citing
“COVID-19” as the triggering event.
