DEVELOPING THE NEXT GENERATION OF LEADERS AND ADVOCATES

CLIA’s Leadership Development and Advocacy training programs equip Baltimore
City youth with the skills necessary to lead effectively and advocate for
positive change in their schools, neighborhoods and city.

CHANGING PUBLIC POLICY

CLIA leads the Just Kids Campaign, a statewide advocacy campaign working to stop
the automatic prosecution of youth as adults in Maryland.

CLIA develops young leaders, ages 14-24, and facilitates effective partnerships
to amplify youth priorities, impact policy, and foster positive community
change.

“When I joined CLIA I felt as though I was a lost child. Speaking in front of
legislators brought out confidence in me that I never realized I had. CLIA
showed me different aspects of life: A different way to walk! A different way to
talk! A different way to dress! Even a different way to express my pain! With
the support of CLIA I became a better me. I am honored to be a part of this
