DESCRIPTION

Within our Women@DGM-activities we would like to invite you to another virtual
networking event before we will meet again in presence person at the MSE in
Darmstadt. So as not to put too much strain on all your time quotas, we plan a
lunch talk on 14th of June at noon from 12:00 to 13:00. We would like to reflect
together with you about “Gender Mindsets / Bias in an International Context”.
Prof. Dr. Mariana Calin from Leibniz IFW in Dresden and Prof. Dr. Andréa de
Camargo from Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) have agreed
to share their ideas and experiences regarding this topic by presenting brief
pitches at the beginning of the event. We would be more than happy to win 1 or 2
more pitch presenters within your community. Please do not hesitate to get into
contact with Women@DGM (women@dgm.de) or Prof. Dr. Martina Zimmermann personally
(martina.zimmermann@tu-dresden.de), in case you are interested in giving a pitch
yourself. 


Whoever is interested in this international perspective of gender aspects is
more than welcome to join in. For the time being we still feel the need to
organize the exchange in a “protected and confidential setting”, we want to
limit the event to female participants only. We are well aware of the
controversial aspects of this limitation – however, we hope for the
understanding and support from our male DGM partners.

As a kind of “sneak preview” – international aspects will also be part of our
Women@DGM event in the framework of the MSE congress – addressing gender aspects
within European proposals AND whether gender aspects can / should be addressed
beyond conventional topics – stay tuned!
