WELCOME TO THE NATIONAL SUBJECT MATTER INDEX DATABASE

The National Subject Matter Index (NSMI) provides a centralized, comprehensive
taxonomy of topics for the legal aid community by which documents and data can
be indexed.

The NSMI is an index of key types of content that live on legal aid
organizations websites. By adding the NSMI it allows others to easily find and
share information on your site. The NSMI also helps you find similar content on
other websites.

This site offers various features and tools for the NSMI. Such as:

Browse the full NSMI listing

View and browse the full listing. You can also search by name or problem code of
the NSMI.

Download the NSMI in multiple formats

Download the full or partial listings in various formats: CSV, XML, and a Drupal
specific version.
