AFRICA TECH FESTIVAL RETURNS TO CAPE TOWN!

Two years ago, the world turned upside down. Technology became less about ‘the
future’ and more an integral part of the present. As life moved online, our job
of connecting the continent’s innovators and change-makers evolved to ensure you
could continue doing what you do best – delivering on the promise of a better,
more inclusive digital Africa.

You’ve told us how much you missed your annual trip to Cape Town for Africa Tech
Festival, and we know that even the best virtual experience can’t replicate that
live buzz – whether that’s for the inspiring speakers or discovery of new tech
and telecoms innovation. That’s why we’re delighted to announce we’re back with
a bang in 2022! We’ll be announcing more over the next few months, watch this
space!

I attended the Africa Tech Festival 2020 and it exceeded my expectations, I
never knew it would be so rich. I was particularly surprised about the depth of
knowledge shared by the speakers from diverse backgrounds and geographies.

.

Senior Programme Manager: CRM

Department of the Premier - Western Cape Government

As a government employe and a citizen residing in the African continent I got to
learn about the high level of digital innovation and creativity in other African
countries. The case studies that were demonstrated left us with our jaws
hanging. What was amazing was to know that those countries that are leading in
the digital space have limited resources and infrastructure compared to South
Africa. They have come up with various ways of providing internet connectivity
in the villages that are extremely disadvantaged and marginalised. On the other
hand, I got the opportunity to interact and engage with colleagues from other
spheres of our government and I learnt a lot. I will definately register again.

.

Group Health and Safety Officer

Digicall Group (Contractor managing the Transport Information Centre for the
City of Cape Town)

The best virtual event in the COVID-19 times to date

.

Section Head: Technology Centre of Excellence

South African Police Service

This is an event where you can learn new things in the tech industry and I have
never been disappointed since the inception. I return every year with eagerness
to see what is in store and to confirm if initiatives I launched are aligned
with what is happening in other parts of the world, especially on our own
continent. This is a non negotiable event to attend.

.

Chief Financial Officer - Corporate and Investment Banking

Sterling Bank

For an event that is normally in venue and had to recalibrate to 100% virtual,
the event was very well run and extremely organised
