Scientific advancement? 1000%. But from an arts and culture perspective, no concept has inspired more creativity than religion. Various world religions have inspired everything from literature (the Iliad, Odyssey, the Mahabharata, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Dante's Inferno), architecture (The Great Pyramid, Angkor Wat, St. Peter's Basilica, Chichén Itzá, Dome of the Rock, the Taj Mahal), sculpture and painting (David, Bharat Mata, the Terracotta Warriors, and countless other works), music (everything from Mozart's Requiem in D Minor to Tupac's Ghetto Gospel). Point being, every culture in the world was effectively shaped either partially or entirely around religion. It has inspired creativity and man-made beauty as much as it has inspired war, death, and scientific stagnation/relapse. I'm agnostic and don't really hold any religious belief, but I appreciate the positive impacts that it has had on society while also acknowledging the horrific aspects of it as well. Miami is a nice crossover between Chicago and Bangkok. I'm also including Fort Lauderdale since that's in the Miami area. Being in a tropical climate, Miami is a popular tourist destination in the Winter months. I like the city life and the beaches. Miami is unique as the city architecture is very bright and light colored. It's a very cosmopolitan city with world class restaurants and nightlife. Miami looked very Latin American and you wouldn't believe you were in the USA. However 40 kilometers north is Fort Lauderdale which is very popular with American spring breakers looking to escape the bad winters for a much warmer and sunnier climate. However unless I move back to the South, I have absolutely no interest in going back to Miami. It's way too far where I live. The neighborhoods are very car centric and some area of Miami are very dangerous and third-world looking. While Miami's downtown looks very cosmopolitan, many of the outer neighborhoods are blighted. Outside the USA: Delhi, India. visited with my family when I was a kid. Saw the Taj Mahal and Red Fort. I'm a second generation Indian-American and our family used to travel to India a lot. Delhi has lots of history and is a popular tourist destination. I don't have much interest going back to Delhi mostly because of the poverty and congestion. Most sights in India are notoriously crowded. A couple years ago, Delhi and India as a whole was put in bad light after some horrific attacks against women. This tarnished the reputation of Indians as a whole. Things have gotten much better since then as Delhi is now in the top 15 most visited cities in the world. Public infrastructure has vastly improved and the streets are significantly cleaner. Despite all these positive things happening, Delhi still remains a rough place.
