Kernow Model Rail Centre
I finally visited the shop again in person over 3 years since my last visit.
This time I parked for free at the Spectrum Car Park and walked across the park.
I would not recommend doing this is the weather is bad though. The shop is still
really well stocked and the staff are friendly. The locos are nicely displayed
in cabinets at the rear of the shop. of course, while I only planned to collect
some models I had ordered on line, I still managed to buy an additional one as
well!

Simon's Trains & Anything Narrow Gauge
I have bought from Simon both in person and by mail order. I have always found
him very helpful, and mail order goods arrive very promptly. Last loco bought
from him runs like a dream as I would expect, given that he checks and steams
second user locos and corrects any faults found. Staff are most friendly and
always have time to find the items you require, I would have no hesitation
recommending the shop to people, they are a pleasure to deal with.

The Locoshed Ltd Manchester
Simply one of the best model shops I have ever been to. Jim has loads of new

Mad About Trains of Gainsborough
I am looking to put a model train layout together for my grandchildren and didnt
know a lot about model trains etc so popped into Mad about Trains, wow, so glad
I did, what a wealth of knowledge Keith and his team had, nothing was too much
trouble, no pressure selling, just good honest advice on what to go for, what to
avoid, how to develop and expand a layout, even furnished me with some train
modelling books free of charge so I can get some ideas and improve my knowledge
further, I was in the shop for a good hour or so and at no point felt rushed or
a nuisance, best customer service I have ever received. I will definitely be
going back, great selection of everything to do with trains with several very
good layouts. I cannot recommend the shop and staff enough, they were superb and
I will definitely make this my go to place for equipment as I start my venture
into model trains, I may even take the grandkidsI might not be able to get them
out again though.

Compass Model Railways
It is good to see that the shop has survived and prospered since it started just
before COVID first hit us. The shop is well-Stocked for its size and has a good
range of modelling items. The best place to park is in the free car park that is
down the road to the east.

Starbeck Model Railways
Little shop with not a great deal of stock, seller was helpful and very chatty,
he had a small range of items at competitive pricing. We chatted for a good
while and he was very knowledgable about models and history of trains, he has a
good knowledge of train repairs and servicing. I went in to look as Id bought
several items off eBay over the years from him and wanted to see in person. Such
a nice fellow a persuaded myself to make a purchase even when I shouldnt have

Church Street Models
I visited again 3rd November 2022 whilst wife and sister-In-Law in the Festival
Centre. I went prepared with my list which the proprietor very kindly helped me
locate items for. There is so much in the shop that it would have taken me a
while to find the things I wanted, mostly parts, paints etc. I very much
recommend this shop, very helpful proprietor and loads of stock, so much that
you keep seeing more and more as you look around. Excellent. Plenty for the OO9
modeller as well as N and OO, kits, parts, paint accessories etc. Park the
wife/family in the malls and visit.

Monk Bar Model Shop

DCC Train Automation
A recent find of a little gem just down the road from where I live, even for an
analogue dinosaur like me Peco stockist as well as most UK known brands plus
Continental and American, lots of accessories and friendly helpful great staff.
Would have given 10/10 but for the fact that they do not sell or appear to sell
pre owned. Well worth a visit.

Morris Models
Sadly the owner retired at the end of August 2022 so the shop is now shut to
visitors. However, you can still buy items via their website. There may be a
bargain for you but it is not clear for how long the website will remain open. I
suspect that it may only be a for a few months.

Classic Rail
I have finally been back after more than 2.75 years. It is still as good an
experience as it ever has been. Lots of fairly priced rolling stock and other
models for all different model railway interests. Just check he will be open if

The Model Railway Shop
I had the pleasure of meeting Martin with my wife as we had travelled from
Sydney Australia and what a visit it was. His knowledge and understanding of
model trains was amazing. I managed to purchase some model trains from him and
have a good laugh in the process sharing stories from home and here in England.
He gave us a such a very warm welcome and helped me with many questions. I could
not speak more of a gentlemen I never knew till I decided to find his shop. My
wife Georgia had a few laughs with Martin as well. A absolute please to do

Hattons Model Railways
I took for me a gamble by purchasing a used, kit built O gauge loco, G5. I
needn't have worried! Hatton's description of the loco was spot on. It arrived
in excellent condition straight from the box. Having just cleaned wheels and
pick ups I have a smooth running loco that negotiates Peco bullhead points
without hesitation. This purchase has also saved me the trauma of tackling a
more costly kit myself. My order was placed yesterday afternoon and arrived
before 8.30 this morning. an excellent service and I highly recommend Hattons.

Jacksons Models
I recently purchased a model railway accessory item from Jackson's via Ebay. The
price and postage together were the best deal going that I could see. The items
arrived very quickly, very well packed and in perfect order. This was my so far
only experience with Jackson's and is very encouraging, more business will be
going their way in due course. I'd like to visit but it's a bit of a trek from
Swindon. When I next visit Cumbia I will make a point of visiting the shop as
they have a good range o items on their website. Good service matters and is

New(Ish) model shop in an area that doesn't realy have anything else ! Good
stockevels in the shop and live info Online -For those that can't make it ! Well
worth a visit -The owner is knowledgeable and will get it if not in stock .
Shops like this are getting few and far between -So give it a go before they all
disappear forever !

We are from Australia, and have visited 4 times, and been to this shop same
amount of times. Great selection, and reasonably priced. The store owner is very
conversant with the hobby, and knows whats what. The diversity of products is
good, as with the time periods stocked. Well worth a visit. As we modelled the
layout Kings Lynn and Area model by J T Colquhoun this shop is most apt.
