Q: Are you guys able to switch out the RATS tourniquet for a CAT tourniquet?

A: Lucas I bought the Trauma Pro and I dropped in two CATs that I already had. I
also played around with the RATS and it is interesting…definitely not as good as
the CAT though so I get the question.

Q: Why don’t you guys use CAT, SOF-T, or any other TCCC recommended tourniquets?
$125 plus tax and shipping is way too much for a kit that comes with a RATS
tourniquet.

A: We have a variety of different tourniquets including CAT, SWAT, SAM, and
SOF-T. We typically used RAT tourniquets because they are easy to use for the
general public. Since the tourniquet will not be on long enough to cause nerve
damage as help is often close by. A couple of hours is not going to harm you
even if it is uncomfortable. Our other tourniquets are often used for longer
periods like overseas for example where help could be sometimes 8+ hours away.
