Online bookings will be available soon. Beckford’s Tower and Museum is now closed until 29th June 2024 as we undertake capital works (made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund) to transform the museum, restore the Tower and reconnect the landscape. There will be ongoing opportunities to engage with the conservation work, so please keep an eye on our social media pages or sign up to the “Our Tower” newsletter for further information. William Beckford’s ability to build, and to collect, was made possible by the wealth he inherited and continued to accumulate as an owner of Jamaican sugar plantations and enslaved people, and through the compensation he received from the government following the abolition of slavery.
