Hello, You are probably visiting this webpage because you were bothered by one of our Internet scanners doing an Internet-wide port or ping scan. We apologize in advance if that’s the case - you can e-mail us to request an exclusion. Please send the following information to info@portscan.work: * IP address or subnet(s) to exclude * Date/Timestamp of events (preferably with timezone) * Mention if you want a reply back Below you can find a list of what we scan, and for what purposes: * ICMP echo - to determine which hosts respond to pings and their respective latency * Ports 22 (SSH) and 3389 (RDP) - to determine which hosts are potentially servers * Ports 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS) - to determine which hosts are potentially serving websites * Ports 8080 and other common proxy/VPN ports - to determine which hosts are potentially proxies/VPNs We use the obtained information to enhance an online bad IP address detection service, as we get more insight into certain IP addresses we couldn’t get otherwise. Specifically, this research allow us to infer which IP addresses are more likely to be proxying traffic or otherwise located in datacenters. The (small) entity behind this research is a commercial one, and our services are mostly used by SMBs and academics to filter out bad users. While we may check if a given service is publicly exposed (e.g.: proxy service), in under no circumstance we attempt to exploit security vulnerabilities. For any questions or exclusion requests, please e-mail: info@portscan.work
