Product Advice & Troubleshooting

About Oral-B

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 * Why switch

   o When you brush with an Oral-B electric toothbrush you do so much more for
   your oral health than you can with a manual toothbrush. It cleans better
   between teeth, removes 100% more plaque and helps you take better care of
   your gums. All at the push of a button. Upgrade to an Oral-B electric
   toothbrush and feel the difference.

   o Research shows that electric toothbrushes - like an Oral-B
   oscillating-rotating electric toothbrush - consistently reduce plaque and
   gingivitis more effectively than a manual toothbrush in both the short and
   long term.

   o Oral-B's unique, dentist inspired round brush head surrounds each tooth
   with end-rounded bristles for a gentle, superior clean.

 * Oral-B vs Sonicare

   o Oral-B's unique, dentist inspired round brush head surrounds each tooth
   with end-rounded bristles for a gentle, superior clean.

   o Oral-B Pro Series CrossAction is clinically proven to remove more plaque
   vs. Phillips Sonicare DiamondClean.

   o Oral-B is the first electric toothbrush brand to be accepted by the
   American Dental Association for effectiveness and safety.

 * History of Oral-B

   o 1950: It all started with a dentist, who created the first Oral-B
   toothbrush and its soft, end-rounded nylon bristles. Dr. Robert Hutson, a
   California periodontist, designed and patented the first Oral-B toothbrush.
   He also created the Oral-B brand name. "The first product was known as the
   Oral-B 60," said Dr. Hutson, "because it had 60 tufts."

   o 1984: Oral-B is acquired by The Gillette Company. Braun introduces the
   first power toothbrush to combine vertical and horizontal movements, a
   simulation of the dentist-recommended Bass brushing method. The D3 was
   successful in highly developed European oral care markets like Denmark,
   Finland, Holland, and Germany.

   o 1991: The Oral-B Indicator® introduces the first-ever fading bristles with
   patented technology: The bristles fade with use, thereby signaling the
   consumer when to change his/her toothbrush. The company won a first-place
   Edison Award for product innovation for the Indicator® toothbrush.

   o 1998: This year sees the launch of three major new products, one in each
   core business segment: manual toothbrushes, power toothbrushes, and dental
   floss.

        environmental regulations. Important note: Opening the handle will
        destroy the appliance and invalidate the warranty.
      * Charger/cords: Chargers and cords are also considered electronic
        waste. To protect the environment, do not discard them with your normal
        household waste. Please take them to the appropriate electronic waste
        disposal facility to be recycled.

 * Life Stages
    * Infants
       * Taking Care of Your Baby's Gums: To help prevent the buildup of plaque
         bacteria that can lead to decay, pediatric dentists and pediatricians
         highly recommend regularly cleaning of your newborn’s gums with a damp
         washcloth following feedings. In addition, take measures to
         prevent baby bottle tooth decay, a disease that occurs in 15 percent of
         children and causes severe, swift decay of baby teeth. To help prevent
         it, do not put your baby to bed with a bottle of formula or a sugary
         drink, such as juice. The possibility of tooth decay is directly
         related to the number of times that sweet things are in contact with
         the teeth (formula contains some sugar).
       * Brushing Your Baby's First Teeth: Around four months, a child usually
         begins to teethe. When the first tooth comes in, it’s time to start
         brushing and also set up a dentist
         appointment.  Cavities, gingivitis and tooth decay are common problems
         associated with your child’s growing teeth. Brush their teeth for two
         minutes, twice a day to help prevent decay and to help get your baby
         used to the recommended brushing time.
       * Do Babies Need Special Toothbrush and Toothpaste? Just as developing
         children require special attention, so do their teeth. Use a toothbrush
         with extra-soft bristles until your child turns two to three, when it’s
         safe to switch to toothpaste with fluoride under your close
         supervision. When it comes to your baby, if you want to start training
         for using toothpaste in the future look for a cleanser that’s safe to
         swallow, fluoride-free and doesn’t contain artificial colors or
         preservatives. A fruity flavor and non-foaming formula help, too.

    * Kids
       * Getting children to brush their teeth can be difficult, often full of
         tears, tantrums or flat-out refusal. However, there are many ways you
         can make it a fun adventure and start them out with good oral hygiene
         at a young age. Finding the best electric toothbrush for kids that is
         simple and fun to use can go a long way in establishing good brushing
         habits that last a lifetime.
       * When Should a Child Start Using an Electric Toothbrush: If you’re
         considering brushing your child's teeth with an electric toothbrush,
         wait until your child is at least three years old. Do not use an
         electric toothbrush with children younger than three years old. Before
         that, a manual toothbrush like the Oral-B Manual Toothbrush Baby 0-2
         Years featuring Winnie the Pooh should be used.
       * Benefits of an Electric Toothbrush for Kids
       * Ease of Use: Simply put, an electric toothbrush does most of the work
         for you. Whether it’s the movement of the brush head or a built-in
         timer for correct brushing time, an electric toothbrush makes brushing
         easier.
       * Plaque Removal: Electric toothbrushes tend to remove more plaque than a
         manual toothbrush. They can also make it easier to reach tricky spots
         like the back teeth. By removing more plaque from your child’s teeth,
         you can help keep their developing smiles in good condition.
       * Child’s Enthusiasm: Your child may be particularly excited about using
         an electric toothbrush, either because of its novelty or because
         they’ve seen you using one. This can make it easier to get them into a
         routine of brushing twice a day.
       * Specialized Bristles: Growing smiles often have tender gums, look for a
         soft-bristled toothbrush just for kids. Oral-B Kids’ Vitality
         toothbrushes feature unique cushioning, ExrtaSoft bristles for a
         gentle, yet effective clean.
       * How to Select the Right Electric Toothbrush for Your Kid: Oral-B makes
         a whole line of  kids' electric toothbrushes with special features
         designed for children of 3+ years old. While they have similar brush
         movements and timers to their adult counterparts, Oral-B Stages Power
         electric toothbrushes are available in bright colors featuring their
         favorite ©Disney characters to make brushing more fun.

    * Braces
       * When you wear braces, plaque has more places to accumulate and build
         up. Learn how our electric toothbrushes more effectively clean around
         braces to remove plaque and help prevent gum disease.
       * It’s more difficult to clean hard-to-reach areas and along the gum line
         when wearing braces. However, the oscillating-rotating power of Oral-B®
         Electric Toothbrushes does the work for you and removes 100% more
         plaque than manual toothbrushes.
       * The Ortho Brush Head has specially designed bristles to easily and
         effectively remove plaque around brackets and other orthodontic
         appliances. Simply let your brush head rest for 1 to 2 seconds on each
         tooth, and then guide it along in the same manner you would if you were
         brushing without braces.

    * Adults
       * Many people associate braces with middle school, but getting braces as
         an adult is becoming much more common. Almost 20% of braces wearers are
         adults. This is mostly due to the rise of more subtle, less visible
         options like ceramic braces and Invisalign.
       * Teeth can shift with age - because of injury, a condition called tongue
         thrust, or natural growth – and some adults find that their previously
         straight teeth have become crooked and overcrowded. They may
         start experiencing jaw pain, having difficulty properly cleaning their
         teeth, or simply facing a smile they find unattractive.
       * Overall, many adults see braces as a worthwhile investment of a few
         awkward years in exchange for decades of straight teeth.

    * Pregnancy
       * Lifestyle and habits during pregnancy can affect your health as well as
         the health of your unborn baby. With all the things you need to be
         prepared for, your oral health may not exactly be top-of-mind. But
         maintaining the health of your teeth and gums is necessary to avoid the
         risk of developing pregnancy gingivitis and to establish good oral
         health long-term.
       * During pregnancy, women are likely to eat and drink more frequently
         throughout the day. And with the more frequent sugar intake comes an
         increased risk for cavities, so it’s especially important to stick with
         a sound tooth brushing and flossing routine.
       * Some women may be more likely to develop red, puffy gums during
         pregnancy because the additional amount of the hormone progesterone in
         the body causes a strong reaction to normal amounts of plaque. If your
         gums are especially sensitive, try a soft floss that slides easily and
         comfortably between teeth or a specialty interdental cleaning tool.

 * How to Brush Your Teeth

   STEP 1 Make sure your toothbrush is charged. Many electric toothbrushes have
   charge level indicator lights, so you can actually see when the toothbrush is
   charged.

   STEP 2 Apply toothpaste to the brush head. To avoid splashing, guide the
   brush head to your teeth before switching on the brush

   STEP 3 Start with the outside surfaces of the teeth. Guide the brush head
   slowly from tooth to tooth, holding the brush head in place for a few seconds
   against each tooth before moving on to the next one. Follow along with the
   shape of each tooth and the curve of the gums.

   Repeat Step 3 on the inside surfaces of the teeth.

   Repeat Step 3 on the chewing surfaces of the teeth as well as behind the back
   teeth.

   Direct the brush head along the gum line and upon the gums. Again, do not
   press hard or scrub.

   Try grazing the brush head along your tongue and the roof of your mouth, back
   to front, to help freshen your breath.

   Remember, when using a rechargeable electric toothbrush, it isn't necessary
   to press hard or scrub. Simply guide the brush while it provides the brushing
   action. In fact, some Oral-B electric toothbrushes have pressure sensors that
   alert you when you’re brushing too hard.

    * To brush your teeth correctly, be sure to spend at least two minutes using
      the technique above, brushing each section of your mouth for 30 seconds
      (upper right, upper left, lower right and lower left), both morning and
      night. Most Oral-B rechargeable electric toothbrushes have built-in
      two-minute timers, and some even have professional timers that parse out
      30 seconds for each quadrant to help you keep track.
    * For best results, dentists recommend replacing the brush head on your
      toothbrush every three months.

 * Oral Hygiene
    * Improving your oral hygiene goes hand-in-hand with a healthy mouth. Small
      changes in your oral care routine can improve your dental health.
      * The effects of poor oral hygiene range from tooth decay and cavities to
        gingivitis, periodontitis, and tooth loss. Fortunately, proper oral
        hygiene, including cleaning teeth correctly and regularly, can prevent
        most of these problems.
      * Don’t forget that most dental plans cover at least one, and sometimes
        two, checkups and cleanings per year at little or no cost to you. It’s
        better to make and keep those appointments, even if you don’t think you
        have problems with your teeth or oral hygiene, in order to identify and
        manage potential problems before costly care is required.
    * Keep your teeth clean and cavity-free by following a regular dental care
      routine of twice-daily tooth brushing and daily flossing. And visit your
      dental professional at least once a year for a professional cleaning and
      assessment to catch any problems before they become serious.
      * Limit Soda, Coffee and Alcohol
      * Although these beverages contain a high level of phosphorous, which is a
        necessary mineral for a healthy mouth, too much phosphorous can deplete
        the body's level of calcium. This causes dental hygiene problems such as
        tooth decay and gum disease. Beverages containing additives such as corn
        syrup and food dye can make pearly white teeth appear dull and
        discolored. Therefore, it is best to choose beverages like milk, which
        helps strengthen teeth and build stronger enamel, giving you a healthy,
        beautiful smile.
      * If bottled water is your main source of drinking water, you could be
        missing the decay-preventive benefits of fluoride.
      * Despite their popularity, low-carb diets can cause bad breath. A
        balanced, dental-healthy diet can help reduce tooth decay.
      * After age 20, both men and women lose more bone mass than they form so
        it is important to restore lost calcium with a daily supplement and by
        eating fruits and vegetables high in calcium, such as dark leafy greens.

 * Oral Health
    * Bad breath, or halitosis, is mainly caused by the buildup of bacteria in
      the mouth, which produces a foul smell. Bad breath can be embarrassing,
      but fortunately once you have identified the causes, you can begin
      treatment.

   Tobacco use. If you smoke, quit. Your bad breath may be due to other causes,
   too, but tobacco use is a guarantee of bad breath. If you are ready to quit,
   ask your doctor or dentist for advice and support.

   What you eat, or don't eat. Certain foods, such as garlic, contribute to bad
   breath, but only temporarily. Once they are absorbed into the bloodstream,
   the smell is expelled through the breath, but the odors remain until the body
   processes the food, so there’s no quick fix.

   Dry mouth. If your mouth is extremely dry, there is not enough saliva to wash
   away excess food particles and bacteria, which can cause an unpleasant smell
   if they build up on the teeth.

   On rare occasions, bad breath can be a sign of a more serious medical
   condition so it’s important not to ignore the problem and to see a dental
   professional if the problem persists.

    * Cavities and Tooth Decay is one of the most common and widespread
      persistent diseases today and is also one of the most preventable.

   Brushing regularly with an electric toothbrush can help prevent tooth loss by
   more effectively removing the plaque bacteria that can lead to tooth decay.

   Keep up with regular dental checkups in order to identify pre-existing
   conditions before they lead to more serious issues down the road.

   Flossing regularly after brushing especially if you’re frequently eating or
   drinking sugary foods or drinks. Flossing once or twice a day with Crest
   Pro-Health products can help you remove food particles from between the
   hard-to-reach areas of your teeth you might be missing.

    * Dry Mouth is a daily problem that makes you feel uncomfortable while you
      swallow, eat or speak. It is a condition in which you do not produce
      enough saliva (spit) to keep your mouth feeling wet.

   Stress and anxiety can contribute to dry mouth, as can the medications you
   might take for them. It is important to communicate with your dental
   professional about issues concerning your overall health because anything
   that increases your risk for dry mouth also increases your risk for gum
   disease.

   Medications are a major cause of dry mouth. In fact, medications cause
   approximately 90 percent of all cases of dry mouth, according to the Academy
   of General Dentistry. You may not be able to discontinue your medication, but
   you should keep your dentist informed when something in your overall health
   changes and you start taking medication. For example, antidepressants,
   antihistamines, anti-inflammatories and anti-hypertensive medications are
   just some of the many types of drugs that can contribute to a dry mouth.

   A variety of conditions can cause dry mouth, also known as xerostomia,
   including the following:

   Cancer treatments: If you have any type of cancer of the head or neck and you
   receive radiation therapy, dry mouth is a common side effect because the
   radiation damages the salivary glands in addition to destroying the cancer.
   Some medications used to treat cancer in any part of the body can also cause
   dry mouth.

   Prescription medications: Hundreds of common medications, including many
   antidepressants and medications for high blood pressure, can contribute to a
   dry mouth. If you take medications that seem to make your mouth feel dry, be
   especially vigilant about tooth brushing and proper flossing.

   Chronic illness: Diabetes, HIV/AIDS, and Parkinson’s disease are among the
   diseases that can contribute to a chronic dry mouth. Some older people suffer
   from Sjogren’s Syndrome, an autoimmune disease characterized by extremely dry
   eyes and a dry mouth.

   Drug use: Methamphetamines have been associated with dry mouth.

    * Plaque and Tartar: Removing plaque at home on a daily basis lessens your
      chances of tartar buildup and experiencing more serious dental problems
      such as cavities, gingivitis, and bad breath. Healthy dental habits, such
      as brushing for two minutes twice daily and flossing after every brush,
      can help you prevent the harmful effects of plaque buildup. If you have
      kids, remember: It’s never too early to help them learn good oral care.
    * Tooth Sensitivity: People who suffer from tooth sensitivity avoid daily
      activities such as consuming hot or cold foods and beverages as well as
      brushing their teeth. These simple activities cause tooth sensitivity
      sufferers to live in constant fear of severe pain. Sensitivity occurs when
      the dentin, a porous tissue in your teeth, becomes exposed. The dentin has
      microscopic channels, called tubules, which are pathways to the nerve.
      When dentinal tubules are exposed, due to receding gum tissue or enamel
      loss, nerves are more easily triggered by certain stimuli causing tooth
      sensitivity.

   Causes

   Overzealous brushing: You can have too much of a good thing. Brushing your
   teeth with too much force, or with a hard-bristle toothbrush, may wear down
   tooth enamel, expose the cementum or dentin and cause tooth sensitivity.

   Tooth grinding: Grinding your teeth can cause the enamel to wear away and
   leave the dentin exposed.

   Gum disease: Inflamed gum tissue pulls away from the tooth, leaving
   vulnerable areas exposed.

Troubleshooting

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 * Replacing Batteries in Battery Powered Brushes
    * When inserting the replacement batteries, please be sure they're in the
      correct position as indicated by the plus (+) and minus (-) symbols on the
      bottom of the handle.
    * Single-battery adult brushes (3D White, Complete, Pro-Health):
      * Twist battery cap to the left to open.
      * Insert new AA battery. Plus (+) end should be inserted towards the top
        of the handle.  Only AA alkaline battery is recommended.
      * Replace battery cap and twist to the right until tightly sealed.
    * Two-battery brushes (Complete Deep Clean, Pro-Health Clinical, Advance
      Power):
      * Hold the brush firmly and press both dots above the battery cap at the
        base of the brush.
      * Gently pull to remove the cap.
      * Replace the batteries as indicated*. Only AA Alkaline batteries are
        recommended.
      * Clean the area around the black rubber ring (just above the battery case
        opening) and replace the cap.
      * Push the cap straight on (no need to twist) and ensure the cap clicks
        firmly into place.(It takes a little bit of force to push it on and snap
        into place.)

   *When you remove the cap, you'll see icons on the bottom of the brush handle
   indicating whether the battery's plus (+) or minus (-) end should be facing
   towards the bottom. It varies depending on which side of the brush you're
   looking at.

   With the On button facing left, insert the left-side battery with the plus
   (+) end facing down. The battery on the right side should be inserted with
   the minus (-) end facing down.

   Note: The cap has springs on both sides.

   Kid's battery brushes:

    * Remove the screw at the bottom of the brush.
    * Remove the plug at the bottom of the brush. You can use a flat head
      screwdriver or even a coin. Follow the direction of the arrow (turn left)
      to remove.
    * Insert new AA battery. Plus (+) end should be inserted towards the top of
      the handle. Only AA alkaline battery is recommended.
    * Replace the plug and screw it back in.

    * Try a different power outlet
    * Ensure that you are not charging on or near a metal surface – this can
      interfere with the electromagnetic charger
    * Make sure that your toothbrush has been powered off before putting it on
      the charger
    * Try to charge your toothbrush for a full 12-24 hours with the charging
      indicator light on – depending on model
    * If you have another charger in the household that fits your toothbrush
      handle, please use it to attempt to charge your toothbrush

 * How to Replace Brush Heads

   Oral-B Rechargeable

    * Gently pull the brush head away from your handle.
    * Sometimes toothpaste can build up under the brush head and solidify to
      quite a tight bond. It can even cause part of the inside of the brush head
      to break off when trying to remove it, leaving a piece behind on the metal
      shaft.

    * To remove a brush head that's stuck on your toothbrush, try running the
      toothbrush’s top section under warm water for at least ten seconds. Then,
      see if you can pull it off. You might have to give it quite a forceful
      tug, but it should come right off.
    * Once you remove the brush head, check to see if there's any material stuck
      to the metal shaft. If so, follow the same process of running warm water
      over it for at least 10 seconds then pulling it off.

   Oral B Battery Brush

    * Place the QuickRelease tool (included in the brush head package) on the
      neck of the toothbrush and press, then slide the brush head off.
    * Lay the new replacement brush head parallel to the neck of the toothbrush,
      then slide the head towards the handle until it lock clicks into place.
      Check that the brush head is firmly attached. Do not insert the brush head
      at an angle.

 * Residue on my handle or charger
    * Please know we understand this is unsightly, but it is likely a buildup
      from regular use, especially if you use an abrasive toothpaste.
    * Even if rinsed after each use, residual toothpaste can harden over time
      and form a black, brown, orange/tan, pink or grey, chalk-like coating on
      the metal shaft of the handle, the rubber, or in the joints and other
      places including on the charger.
    * o Toothpaste and/or water may also collect on the brush head, handle or on
      the surface of the charger, leaving a residue.
    * For the proper steps to clean your brush and help avoid build up, check
      out Cleaning

 * Cleaning

   Follow these steps to ensure a clean brush every time, and watch the tutorial
   Here

    1. After brushing, thoroughly rinse the brush head while the toothbrush is
       switched on to minimize toothpaste residue remaining on the brush between
       uses.
    2. After rinsing, switch the brush off, remove the brush head from the
       handle, and clean both parts separately under running water. Wipe them
       dry, and if possible continue to let them fully air dry, before
       reassembling.
    3. When putting the brush head and handle back together, ensure the brush
       head is pushed fully onto the handle so there is no gap.
    4. If necessary, it is OK to use a mild detergent/cleanser and water to
       clean the outside of the handle.
    5. To clean the charger, unplug it, wipe with a damp cloth then let the unit
       dry before you use it.

 * Saving Brushing Sessions

   Why didn't the Oral-B App record my brushing session?

    * To get your brushing session recorded, please tap “done” after your teeth
      brushing session, close the results summary screen and do tongue cleaning
      as a separate step.
    * If you brushed for less than 30 seconds, it will not count as a session.
    * For some brushes, this can happen when you move to tongue cleaning right
      after the brushing session. The tongue cleaning mode is not a teeth
      cleaning mode and the app is not able to differentiate the two sessions.
      The app stores just the last of the two sessions and this might be none if
      tongue cleaning was shorter than 30 seconds. Please be sure to upgrade
      your app to the newest release to resolve this issue.
    * If you brush after midnight, but before 3 a.m., it counts for the previous
      day. However, if you're going to bed late and your nighttime brushing
      session occurs after 3 a.m., it will count for that actual day (the app
      thinks it's a morning brushing session).
    * You might have had connectivity issues and a session wasn’t recorded in
      the app directly. Your brushing date, time, and duration will still be
      stored on your brush and synced with the app the next time you are
      connected. Only your reminder data for rinsing, tongue cleaning, and
      flossing of that session will be lost. Those are not stored on the handle.
    * Please know that currently there is no way to manually add brushing,
      rinsing, flossing, or tongue cleaning actions to the app. Our app
      developers are considering this for possible improvements in the future.

 * Delete Brushing Sessions

   Individual sessions can be deleted via the history screen: Just swipe them
   away (swipe to the left or right). It is not possible to delete all brushing
   sessions at once unless uninstalling and reinstalling the app. However, once
   you open the app and connect to your brush, the app will sync with the latest
   sessions stored on your handle. While brushing sessions on the handle are
   overwritten with new sessions, they cannot be erased from the handle. If you
   want to delete everything and not use the app any longer, please uninstall
   the app.

   achieve goals, such as whiter teeth for an upcoming wedding or cleaner
   braces. Users can choose from the Fresh Breath, Gum Health, Plaque Fighter,
   Whitening, and Ortho Care journeys (depending on the modes available on your
   brush). Each journey will also provide specific product recommendations.

 * BRUSH HEAD REMINDER
 * Receiving Notification

   After 3 months of normal use, toothbrush bristles can become worn down and
   lose their original alignment, as well as accumulating residue and debris.
   Dentists recommend changing your toothbrush every 3 months or sooner if the
   bristles look frayed because worn-out bristles will not clean as well.
   Several Oral-B brush heads feature indicator bristles to help track
   replacement time so you can better maximize your oral health.

   You can set a reminder in your Oral-B app to replace your brush head. You can
   go to More > Your refill brush head and add the date you've start using the
   brush head.

   The app will show the number of days your brush head is, the minutes you have
   brushed with your brush head and the date it needs to be replaced.

 * Multiple Brush heads

   In case you use more than one brush head or share your handle, you will be
   able to snooze the refill reminder alarm to adjust to your habits. You snooze
   the refill reminder pressing the "Later" button when reminded. The reminder
   comes up maximum of 8 times during about 2 months (depending on the use) and
   will then stay inactive. Another way to double the time to compensate for the
   use of 2 refills would be to press the "Switched" button when reminded the
   first time and use current refills for one more period (on average 6 months
   or 2 refills for single user or 2x90 days for duo users).

 * BRUSH HISTORY
 * Duplicate Sessions

   Android Users: We are aware that this can potentially happen when brushing
   data is restored, and we are currently working towards a fix. If it is just a
   few duplications, you might want to delete them manually.

   iOS Users: We are aware that duplicate brushing sessions have been reported
   for iOS users and have worked to fix the issue with the latest Oral-B app.
   Please be sure you have updated to the latest version of the app for best
   results. If it is just a few duplications, you might want to delete them
   manually.

 * Manually Edit Tongue Cleaning, Flossing, and Rinsing Routines

   You can edit your routines within the single session badges. Just go to
   “History” > scroll down to the “Brushing Sessions” section and tap on the
   blue individual session badge of the session you want to edit or change.
   Within that, scroll down to “Additional Routines” and tap on “Edit”. Now you
   can change the entries by ticking “On” and “Off” and save them for your
   records.

 * Wrong Date

   If you have used your brush initially without the app - the app reads your
   historical brushing data from your brush handle. In some cases, this includes
   by mistake theoretical brushing sessions linked to the brush's production
   date which can be a couple of months before you bought your brush. You can
   easily delete (swipe off) these single entries or just ignore them. Once the
   App is synced with the handle it will start displaying the correct times for
   future brushing sessions.

 * Brushing Challenges and Medals

   The Oral-B App would like to keep you motivated and also let you know how
   accomplished a brusher you are. It therefore collates all your brushing data,
   keeps track, and awards medals for your achievements. All medals can be found
   under Challenges in the bottom navigation bar of the app. Not all medals
   require the app to be used all the time, but just a syncing action from time
   to time. For a detailed description on how to achieve which medal tap on the
   3 lines symbol to the right of each medal. Achievements and trophies you had
   collected before Oral-B app version 8 are summarized in one big “silver”

 * YOUR BRUSH
 * Battery Life

   As soon as your handle is connected you get a visual impression on how much
   battery power is left as well as the percentage of the power status of your
   handle's battery. When your brush is disconnected, the visual battery status
   remains showing the battery status of your last time connected brushing
   session.

 * Initiate Syncing

   To initiate syncing pro-actively the following steps can be followed:
   Start the app.

   Navigate to the More > Toothbrush.
   Enable Bluetooth on your toothbrush (use mode or power button or just lift
   brush from charger).
   Wait for approximately 15 seconds.
   Syncing will now start. This is indicated by the syncing animation at the top
   of the screen. Please note that no additional syncing will happen within the
   next 10 minutes.

   The app also syncs in the background if your mobile device is within
   Bluetooth-reach of the toothbrush and the Oral-B App is still active in the
   background. The background sync function and its notifications can be turned
   off via the app Settings.

 * MORE INFORMATION
 * Change My Account Password

   Just login in via More… > “your Name” section at the top of the screen >
   press the “change password” button. On the next screen first, enter your
   current password, then your new password into the second line (following the
   password rules displayed). Press “change” and you will get a message that
   your password got reset successfully.

   A verification code is sent to your email address when a new password for the
   Oral-B account is requested. Please check the following if you did not
   receive a verification code or in case it is not working.

   Sometimes there is a small delay in emails sent and received. Did you check
   again after a few minutes whether you received the email? Are you connected
   to a reliable Wifi network? The email with the verification code will come
   from no-reply@m.oralbconnect.com or no-reply@m.eu.oralbconnect.com . Please
   check your spam folder as well.

   Can you attempt to press the “resend code” button on the verification screen?
   In case you received a verification code and it is not working, it might help
   to enter your email and code manually instead of copy and paste or autofill.
   This can avoid copying unneeded blanks.
