ACTOR - MOVEMENT ARTIST - THEATRE MAKER


 


JONATHAN HUNTER


ABOUT.

Jonathan is an actor, movement artist and now emerging as a theatre maker.

Co-Founder & Leader of the STAMMA Arts Network.



He began his journey and interest in acting when he attended Gary Spatz's "The
Playground" A Young Actors Conservatory in Los Angeles, CA, back in 2003.



After training at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts on the BA Acting course
in the UK, he continued his embodied character training with the Northern
Theatre Laboratory which he implements to stage and screen.

It was with Animikii Theatre where he discovered the laboratory theatre.



From working with the company and becoming an Associate Emerging Artist
(2021-2022) he has come to value the time spent in the unknown, provoking
questions.



He has performed nationally and continentally with puppetry, physical theatre
and Commedia Dell'Arte.

CURRENT & PROJECTS.

Anatomy dance



From 2020, Jonathan has been collaborating remotely with Sarah Perry and
Christina Fulcher in development of an exploration of the maze-like anatomy of
the human body.



Spreading the love of movement and the anatomical awareness of the body through
movement and dance.

my percussive lips



MPL incorporates multi-disciplinary workshops for stammering participants and
artists. 



The project is exploring the identity behind the voice and the perception of
stammering. Asking questions around relationship, communication and connection.



The project is to develop in 2023.

Life model



Jonathan uses theatre, movement and physicality to explore harsh dynamic poses,
erupting a captivating body of emotion.

Associate Emerging artist



From 2021, Jonathan has been working with Animikii Theatre as an Associate
Emerging Artist. He has been observing the creative process of Animikii's
upcoming production: The Kaspar Hauser Experiment.



Jonathan is currently being mentored by Artistic Director, Adam Davies.
