NEW TECHNOLOGIES:




Bill Russell Design created an eBook using iBooks Author, a proprietary Apple
system for creation design through to distribution. This eBook called Santa Cruz
in Song and Image contains illustrated scenes of the natural environs around
Santa Cruz, California, an interactive map and 12 embedded songs.

It was made as part of a creative collaboration with musician Brian Gore
which can be purchased at the iTunes Bookstore. This is but one example of new

As an accomplished web designer, illustrator and painter, Bill has contributed
his creative expertise, design and picture-making to a multitude of print and
web projects throughout the United States and Canada. He received his degree
from Parsons School of Design in New York City and was an adjunct professor of
illustration at the California College of the Arts. He loves to pursue his
education into new web technologies.

ARE YOUR WEBSITES CUSTOM BUILT? DO YOU USE TEMPLATES?

We do begin with a core WordPress template but has the look and feel of a
custom-made website. We do this insure your website formats seamlessly to all
devices.

WHAT ABOUT HOSTING? DO I HAVE TO HOST MY WEBSITE WITH YOU?

No, but we recommend client hosting with Hostgator. We like its security and
support services. Going with Hostgator will allow us to stay vigilant and
provide the necessary updates that are part of the hosting package we provide.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET A NEW WEBSITE?

On average, three to six weeks. The pace of any project is set by the client.
How much input you can provide during the initial stages, your availability with
feedback and approvals, how soon site content is ready…all affects the speed of
completion. The other site consideration is it’s functionality. More complex
sites will take more time to develop and test.

DO YOU ONLY CREATE WORDPRESS WEBSITES?

We like WordPress. It’s a great content management system. It a huge, worldwide
market share due to its security, flexibility and ease of use. It’s constantly
being improved and it’s relatively easy to learn.

WHO WRITES THE CONTENT FOR THE SITE?

Usually that is you. You are the expert on your business, so it’s usually best
if it comes from you. We’ll provide you with a blank text template to fill in,
based on our upfront conversations and assessed needs

WHAT IF I NEED HELP OR NEED TO MAKE CHANGES TO OUR SITE?

Yes, we offer support, if you want to modify or add anything to your website.
Our sites are built in WordPress. We provide you with access to the WordPress
Dashboard, as well as access to some WordPress tutorials, if you choose to
appoint someone in-house to maintain the site.

HOW MUCH DOES A WEBSITE COST?

This is by far our number one question. Our goal is to deliver the best website
possible, given your budget. Because we are a small and versatile company, we
charge less than most for our design, development and marketing. We know our
prices are fair and affordable. We provide a free custom quote for your project
if you call us or complete this form.

YOUR PRICES ARE GOOD. DO YOU OUTSOURCE YOUR WORK?

We do not outsource any of our work to companies abroad. Everything on your site
will be built locally, unless you request some feature or functionality that
requires skilled code development. We may need to go offshore if need be.

A CUSTOM WEBSITE IS GREAT, BUT DO YOU HOLD ME HOSTAGE FOREVER?

It’s our hope that you’ll develop trust in our company and services. Once we
complete your site, you’ll have total ownership of it and you’ll have complete
access to your website. Everything we code is 100% open source. This allows any
other developer to take over your website, just in case we don’t work out.

ARE YOUR WEBSITES SEO FRIENDLY?

We perform the necessary search engine optimization on your site. We embed
well-researched and accurate search terms. We are Google Certified. We want your
site to be found in searches. We provide regular reports and assessments of
traffic to your site, and much more data.

WILL I BE ABLE TO UPDATE THE SITE MYSELF?

Yes! We love it when our clients take control of their website and learn to
manage it on their own. We’ll provide you with a set of comprehensive video

There’s not one single answer to this question. Cost is based on the needs of

Typically, we ask for an upfront fee of one third the approved budget…one third
