WHO WE ARE

WE ARE A COMMUNITY BASED PEER ORGANIZATION.

Our values, much of our governance, our strategic direction, our programming and
everything about SOS Recovery Community Organization is driven by the community
and those we serve.  We are made up of a small staff who are here to provide the
framework and structure for our community to drive our programs, services and
offerings.

WE ARE AN RCO WITH A
CAPITAL C.

WE ARE AN RCO WITH A CAPITAL C.

Our services are primarily driven and run by our staff and volunteers who are
made up of individuals in recovery, family members, friends and loved ones of
those in recovery, or those who may be still struggling with substances, as well
as allies in the community.  Much like recovery, we are a diverse group with
empathy, compassion, and a deep passion for all that we are doing to provide a
safe supportive environment for those impacted by substance use.  We have
learned that those who use alcohol and other drugs are our parents, brothers,
sisters, friends, neighbors, and co-workers and, likewise, the recovery
community is represented by all of those at SOS Recovery Community Organization.

TELEPHONE RECOVERY SUPPORT

SOS provides Telephone Recovery Support Service (TRSS) calls to area residents
that are in recovery from alcohol or other drugs, practice harm reduction, and
also family members and loved ones of those who have substance use disorder.
TRSS is an innovative, peer-to-peer support service. Our staff in many cases are
in recovery themselves, make weekly calls to “check in” and see how people are
doing. Individuals and family members, or loved ones, are offered support;
encouragement and information about resources that may help them maintain their
recovery.

Phone calls are made on a weekly basis between the hours of 9am and 5pm
(Monday-Friday)
