This event aims to demystify artificial intelligence (AI), explore its potential for enhancing public sector support for skills focussed on efficiency and innovation, and discuss strategies for supporting skill development from Adult Education Budget (AEB) initiatives to bootcamps into innovation. Hosted by James Adams, founder and managing partner of Akcela, regional tech incubator, home to a number of AI startups, and founder and CEO of Tech Educators. Tickets are extremely limited, with just 20 spaces available. Once sold out, Tech Educators will open a waitlist for future events Through the meeting we will present and discuss in a collaborative manner the following areas. Understanding AI: Basics and Beyond * What is AI?: Gain a clear understanding of what artificial intelligence is and how it works. This session will break down complex concepts into easily digestible information. * AI Explained: Address common questions and misconceptions about AI. This is your chance to ask everything you've ever wanted to know but haven't had the opportunity to ask. A model on AI impact: From efficiency to innovation * We present a review of LSIP’s around the country and the local barometers on AI. * We present and discuss the ways in which AI can support local businesses and innovation to create high GVA roles and increase opportunity for local economies, with a model outlining AI implementation to development. How councils can support AI * Utilising the “Efficiency to Innovation” model, we review opportunities for councils to have deep impact on the local economy, supporting AI development and deployment ABOUT THE HOST: The event will be hosted by James Adams. James is the founder and managing partner of a local tech incubator that houses several AI startups, and he also established a national tech-based skills bootcamp provider. With his extensive experience and deep understanding of both AI technology and skills development, James is uniquely positioned to provide valuable insights and guidance.
