FIRST BITCOIN TRANSACTION

Hal Finney was the recipient of the first-ever transaction involving Bitcoin. On
January 12, 2009, just a few days after the Bitcoin network came into existence,
Satoshi Nakamoto (the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin) sent 10 bitcoins to
Finney in what is considered the first recorded Bitcoin transaction.


EARLY MINING

Finney was actively involved in the mining of Bitcoin in its early days. Mining
is the process by which new bitcoins are created and transactions are added to
the blockchain. His participation helped to secure the network during its
formative period.


BITCOIN CODE CONTRIBUTIONS

Finney engaged in discussions with Nakamoto and other early Bitcoin developers,
providing feedback and making contributions to the codebase. While Nakamoto's
identity remains unknown, Finney was one of the first individuals to work
closely with Nakamoto in the early stages of Bitcoin's development.


CRYPTO TRADING CARDS

How Hal Finney thought about the concept of NFTs over 30 years ago

On Jan. 17, 1993, Hal Finney, the person known for receiving the first Bitcoin
transaction from Satoshi Nakamoto, wrote an email with the subject “Crypto
trading cards” on the online service CompuServe to the Cypherpunks members,
where he mentioned a more interesting way of exchanging digital cash through
cryptographic trading cards
