OECD TAX AUDITING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM SEES GROWING DEMAND

Developing countries have increased interest in joining an OECD initiative that
has helped strengthen tax auditing systems, leading to those countries
collecting $2.3 billion in additional taxes, panelists at a forum hosted by the
organization said Wednesday.

Tax Inspections Without Borders, a collaboration between the Organization for
Economic Cooperation and Development and the United Nations, expects to start
about 25 cooperation programs between tax authorities in 2024, amid growing
demand, Kalale Mambwe of the TIWB secretariat, said at an OECD Tax and
Development Days panel.
