WELCOME TO RENAISSANCE FUNK

I am an artist living on the Sunshine Coast. The best way to sum me up is
through a postcard I carry. It is a black and white photograph of Paul Cezanne
going off to paint a landscape. A fantastic image that I admire that represents
a man going off to work, haggard looking, unkempt, easel on top a wooden box,
backpack of paints and tools of his craft, out in the elements. His job? An
artist. Always.

ILLUSTRATION

Renaissance Funk Studio specialises in original illustrations with a unique
style ranging from editorial and custom to children’s book illustrations. James
has a Diploma of Illustration from Melbourne Polytechnic. New children’s book
coming soon.

FINE ART

Earlier in his painting career, James was a part of two ‘live in’ art studios,
the Surrendered Studio and James’ own Vagabond Art Studio. As a self taught
artist James Roseler has exhibited globally and continues to follow his passion
producing work under the Renaissance Funk banner.

DESIGN

Designing is innate with James. He has been crafting both graphic and website
designs for over 15 years. He then taught himself web development to offer an
alternative approach to the cookie cutter websites that were being offered.
Atomic Number 6 was born as the design sister to Renaissance Funk’s art based
studio. And now, after a 15 year journey, the two creative pursuits have been
merged back into one...Renaissance Funk.
