As the way we discover, consider, and interact with brands evolves – largely
driven by internet and mobile technology, so does the type and variety of
products and services available to buy.

Simultaneously, the types of channels where B2B have traditionally operated has
shifted too – gone are the days when, for example, an accountancy firm would
only advertise in the FT or trade press – you’re likely to see ads for Xero,
Sage and the like on TV and your Instagram feed, and businesses like Docusign
have been elevated from unknown tech service to something consumers use everyday
to sign tenancies, contracts for new furniture and beyond.

For some B2B brands, the right approach is to think more like consumer brands –
crafting a distinctive proposition which they are able to communicate memorably
and effectively – so that they not only get chosen among competitors, but that
their brand also demands additional value.

And it’s not just Initials that think the time is now to urge B2B businesses to
think more deeply about brand and creativity - Cannes Lions think so too,
launching the B2B creativity category in 2022…

Initials commissioned a B2B research study to uncover the additional value
brought about by creative and/or brand development work, showing a positive
relationship between brand work and business performance.

This session will also recap on previous themes, looking at how agencies and B2B
brand can work better together.
