As a testament to our commitment to being an industry leader in bulk
transportation, Tidewater Transit has been awarded the National Tank Truck
Carriers Association Grand Award for Safety and was recognized by the Commercial
Carrier Journal as a CCJ Top 250 For Hire Trucking Company.

ABOUT OUR COMPANY

Tidewater Transit is a family owned company that was founded in 1949 by C. Felix
Harvey and Mr. Charles Smith. Tidewater Transit was established with $5,000 of
capital to service an agricultural business belonging to Mr. Harvey, with
initial cargoes consisting of gasoline, anhydrous ammonia, and petroleum. Mr.
Smith was the driver while his wife, Nina, handled the books. Together, they
built a lean operation with a family atmosphere. They focused on avoiding debt
without sacrificing the ability to meet evolving customer needs. These factors
formed the basis for a company culture that continues to drive success today.
Over the years, Tidewater Transit has emerged as one of the most respected and
trusted bulk carriers in the southeast.

To provide our Customers with the safest, most efficient, and reliable
transportation system in the industry and to do so in a sound and ethical
manner.
