Chandigarh: Police registered four more cheating FIRs against directors and
officials of Gupta Builders and Promoters (GBP) for duping people. As many as 13
FIRs have been registered against the directors of the GBP in the city. The
accused are absconding. On Thursday, UT police had registered two cheating FIRs
against the group.
Dev Bhushan Gupta, a resident of Zirakpur, Mohali, alleged Raman Gupta, Pardeep
Gupta and other directors of GBP, Sector 34 and Neeraj Gupta, managing partner,
G&G Builders, cheated around 2,500 people who invested nearly Rs 1,500 crore in
various projects launched by the accused.
A woman resident of Sector 19, Panchkula, alleged Sunil Kumar, Sandeep Goyal and
others of GBP cheated her of Rs 90 lakh on the pretext of selling plots.
Sanjay Verma and others of Sangrur alleged directors of the group duped them of
Rs 2 crore on the pretext of providing commercial sites in Mohali. In a separate
complaint, a woman resident of Sector 47 alleged officials of GBP cheated her of
Rs 47.47 lakh on the pretext of providing a residential plot.


Mohali police had also registered several cheating cases against the directors
of GBP for duping hundreds of investors in 2021.
