Kamala Harris has been caught red-handed in a sad publicity stunt.

Harris was widely mocked online for a video of her with school-age children
grinning, and apparently thrilled to see her, talking about space exploration
and NASA.

But these were not simply any kids who were hyped about talking to the vice
president about space exploration. A new report revealed that they were
carefully selected paid child actors who were picked after they submitted a
monologue and three questions they would ask a world leader, Fox News reported.

The YouTube Original Series, entitled “Get Curious with Vice President Harris,”
is aimed at getting children interested in space and included an appearance
by NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough from the International Space Station. But the
children featured in the first installment of the series were child actors,
including 13-year-old Trevor Bernardino.

In one scene, Harris tells the children that they are “going to learn so much,”
adding that they will “literally see the craters on the moon with your own eyes.
With your own eyes. I’m telling you.”

The kid actors appear to be genuinely excited, and Harris seems to be revealing
something to them that they don’t already know. The kids are relentlessly
ebullient throughout the video. 

Bernardino, a Carmel, California teen who was one of five child actors in the
video, told KSBW TV that he submitted a monologue and was interviewed for a role
in the series.

“Then after that, like a week later my agent called me and was like ‘Hey Trevor,
you booked it,'” the 13-year-old said.

The only thing he knew was that he was going to Washington DC and was going to
interview someone.

“Me, my mom, dad, we were speculating who could be this important that we meet
them in D.C. and we get to go on cool trip and film,” he said.

“The most exciting part was definitely meeting Vice President Harris. There’s
nothing that can top that. Like, honestly,” he said. “She just sat us down. She
is super charismatic. She’s everything that I ever thought of her, plus more.
She made me feel like one of her peers, and at the time I felt super important.
I was talking to her face to face.”

She was brutally mocked on Twitter, including by Donald Trump Jr.

“Just when you thought the most fake human being in the history of the world
couldn’t get any more phony there’s this… Her commitment to cringe is truly

“A video with Kamala Harris features child actors, with agents, auditions, and
all. But here’s the punchline: ***The project is being produced by a company

2020 communications director said.

“The unqualified and affirmative action Vice President has no future in

Bernardino’s dad told The Washington Examiner that all of the kids in the video
were child actors.

“All five of them are actors,” he said of the cast that included child actors
Derrick Brooks II, Emily Kim Zhoriel Tapo, and Sydney Schmooke.

“He’s a child actor — he’s been trying to do this type of thing for a while. And
so he has a manager and an agent in LA and they send him castings,” the dad
said.“This was a casting call, a very specific one where he had to write
essentially a monologue about what he’s really passionate about and he wrote a
monologue about the environment.”

“The producer of the series came back to him and asked him to write three
questions that he’d ask a very important person … after that, he had a live Zoom
interview with the producer of the series and then he got the part,” he said.



They did not know that they would be meeting Harris “until the day flying out,
essentially,” he said. “The producers wanted a big surprise.”

“It was pitched to my son and us as a pilot,” he said, but its continuations is
going to “depend on the reaction and what the producers want to do — our hope is
that it gets picked up.”

YouTube is thrilled to have this project working.
