STARTING POINT GROUP MEETINGS

The Starting Point Group of AA is still meeting in McConnellsburg on Wednesday
nights at 7:00 pm at the Community Center.

Precautionary measures are taken to reduce the transmission of COVID-19,
including sanitizing the room, entries, door handles, readings, etc. Chairs are
also placed 6 feet apart in compliance with CDC recommendations for social
distancing.

ANYONE CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

In 2019, the Commonwealth Prevention Alliance (CPA) along with the PA Stop
initiative set out to profile real stories of struggle, substance abuse,
recovery and survival from the front lines of the opiate epidemic in
Pennsylvania. Starting with Westmoreland County in the summer of 2019, this
series of short films hopes to show that there are people and stories out there
that speak to the nature of our 2019 message: “Anyone Can Make The Difference.
Anyone.”

ABOUT PROJECT S.A.A.F.E.

Project S.A.A.F.E. (Sustain an Abuse Free Environment) was formed in 2015 after
concerns arose about the impact of opioids on the community of Fulton County.
The vision for Project S.A.A.F.E. is to promote education, treatment, and
recovery of drug and alcohol misuse to build a safe Fulton County Community

COALITION MEETINGS

The coalition holds monthly meetings (1st Wednesday of every month) at the
Fulton County Medical Center.

PROJECT S.A.A.F.E. STRATEGIC PLAN: 2017-2019

The Project S.A.A.F.E. Three Year Strategic Plan was developed using the ideas
and suggestions that were generated from the Project S.A.A.F.E. 2017 strategic
planning workshop, and goals were created by the coalition’s leadership. Goals
of the strategic plan are listed below.

 * Reduce stigma in Fulton County to zero by increasing community awareness
about addiction, overdose, treatment, and recovery resources.
 * Expand and sustain capacity for treatment and recovery initiatives.
 * Develop and implement a data collection and research plan.
 * Implement a 24/7 warm hand-off.
 * Increase access and utilization naloxone to save lives.
 * Educate individuals and families about addiction and overdose, particularly
those at high risk, and all persons in contact with high risk individuals and
those with an Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) or addiction.

STUDIES

In 2020 the Fulton County Family Partnership undertook an extensive project to
identify and implement ways to stem the scourge of substance addiction (and
particularly opiate addiction) in Fulton County. This effort included a
broad-based community survey as well as creation of a strategy document,
Addressing the OUD/SUD Crisis in Fulton County through Strategic Marketing.
Information about the results of the community survey and the strategies
recommended may be found on the FCFP Plans and Studies page.
