BABY YODA IS PART OF SPACEX’S LATEST MISSION FOR A VERY IMPORTANT REASON

Report by: Adam Smith

A stuffed Baby Yoda from the television series The Mandalorian has become the
fifth crew member sent to the International Space Station by the American
private company SpaceX and NASA after sneaking in with the four astronauts on
the commercial “Crew Dragon” spaceship.

During the live broadcast of the ship’s flight, set for a six-month mission,
viewers were thrilled to see the doll floating in the cabin, sparking excitement
across social media.

“We have Baby Yoda on board, trying to take a seat right now,” Cheshier joked as
the figure appeared on the live stream. “I think that’s Victor Glover’s seat, so
I hope he doesn’t mind. Maybe Baby Yoda is trying to drive the vehicle.”

The role of the stuffed toy is central to the mission, serving as a zero-gravity
indicator—when the small, soft object floats around the spacecraft cabin, it
confirms that they have left Earth’s orbit.
