As one of the country’s largest industries, it has a central role to play in Ireland’s biggest challenges, such as housing our expanding population, delivering key infrastructure, tackling climate change and supporting foreign direct investment. ‘Constructing A Competitive Economy’ is the theme of the Construction Industry Federation’s 2023 annual conference. The conference will bring together leading experts from the industry to discuss how construction can support Ireland’s economic growth and increasing population and build a prosperous, thriving society. Ireland is in a strong position economically. Despite global challenges, last year Ireland’s economy was the fastest growing in Europe, with real GDP growth of 12%. Our population is also growing and has increased to over 5million people for the first time since the 1850s. Our growing population and economy presents opportunities, but also challenges for public and private bodies to keep pace. The construction sector’s ability to construct at scale can power Ireland’s progress and prosperity. But we need a clear pipeline of construction-ready work, and an environment that enables the industry’s investment in its people, processes and technology. How can we lead in developing these key enablers? Join us on September 28th in Croke Park for ‘Constructing A Competitive Economy’ as we explore the industry’s role as a driving force of sustainable economic success.
