Theatregoers, made up of family, friends and other College lovers of Drama were enthusiastic, ready to enjoy this magical and thrilling adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic tale.
Staged in the Miguel Pro Playhouse, the show enchanted each audience with its charm, humour, and of course, Dahl’s signature dark twist.
The cast and crew, guided by talented Head of Drama, Ms Heidi Quinn, delivered a polished performance that they should be exceptionally proud of. There were many stand-out performances, including the A capella group on debut with ‘All of Me’ by John Legend, and a popular Lady Gaga Hit Mix performed by the Rozelle Strings. All soloists also did extremely well.
Two Co-Curricular prizes were awarded, with Bryan receiving the award for Outstanding Contribution and Jonah taking out the prize for Outstanding Achievement and Commitment. Congratulations to them both.
The Rozelle Recital Series is the culmination of the Music Coaching Program – which is unique to the Rozelle campus. Emmett has now represented his country for Basketball, being selected for the Australian Under 18-19 team, The Emus. And on Friday night, Emmett presented his framed Australian singlet (number 8) to the College, saying as he did, “You have [all] inspired me to seek the Magis and give my best to everything I do … The Jesuit philosophies have hugely influenced my decisions in life … [striving] to be more and seek more.”

These Forums are an opportunity for Year 11 students from Loreto Normanhurst, Loreto Kirribilli and Saint Ignatius’ College, Riverview to come together and discuss meaningful issues.
As schools with a shared Ignatian tradition, the Forums are characterised by companionship and discernment on various significant issues. Last week’s Forum was themed “Healthy Relationships” and was a student-led experience encompassing relationship with self and others.
A small group of student leaders designed and led the Forum speaking on loneliness, mental health, self-compassion and managing expectations. Gratitude and commendation to these leaders who provided a rich and engaging Forum. The experience gave them the opportunity to spend time out of the classroom, developing a faith that does justice.
The students took part in two days of service in the wider community, and one day based at Rozelle, where they focused on raising awareness of the importance of service within our Jesuit tradition.
The boys attended a range of locations including Our Big Kitchen Bondi, Jesuit Social Services at Mt Druitt, Redfern Jarjum College, Cana Communities, Caroline Chisholm at Padstow, and CatholicCare Disability Services at Lakemba.

At the Senior School mass, over thirty students from the Class of 2025 were commissioned as Extraordinary Ministers of Communion. They will take on this important role and distribute communion at masses across the next twelve months and we congratulate and pray for them.
The students from Rozelle will mark this important Feast Day tomorrow, in St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Rozelle.
All Saints Day honours all the saints for whom there is no specific feast day during the year. The following day, All Souls Day, is a day of prayer and remembrance for loved ones who have died.

Last Friday night, Year 10 students Thom, Luca, Cooper and Nikolas, made sandwiches and snack packs to distribute at Eastlakes as part of the Vinnies Bayside Van. They were accompanied by Mr Dan Ronchetti and Mr Lucas Good.
Service experiences such as this is paramount to an Ignatian education. It teaches our students that a life of service is a pathway to a world of grace. It opens doors to God and allows them to learn about the world and themselves.
Vinnies Vans are important outreach services that provide meals and snacks, blankets, toiletries, hot beverages, and, most importantly, companionship and friendly faces. Aloys has a long history of joining Night Patrol, thanks in large part to the generous efforts of Ms Gascoigne over several years.

This was an activity-based event aimed at inspiring young people to take a proactive role in supporting mental health within their schools and communities, run by the organisation Burn Bright alongside MP for North Shore Felicity Wilson.
The roundtable provided a chance to connect with students from various schools, engage in discussions on key issues affecting young people today, and take a solution-focused approach to making a positive impact.

It is difficult to adequately show gratitude for everything teachers do for our children. During the visit, they shared lunch with Year 9 students and spent time touring the classrooms and facilities, led by Year 9 leaders.
Then, from 3.00pm, Year 8 parents were welcomed to Rozelle, touring the Campus and learning more about the purpose-built Rozelle program and the opportunities that await their sons in 2025.

With our own Head of Rozelle Campus, Ms Erin Webb, as the current AISNSW Studies of Religion Convenor, it was a particular honour to welcome Studies of Religion Teachers from across NSW, representing the breadth and depth of educators within the AIS.
After a brief introduction, guests enjoyed a keynote speech, ‘Young People and Religious Change’, presented by Professor Andrew Singleton from Deakin University.
This was followed by a Plenary Discussion including student speakers from St Aloysius’ College and Saint Ignatius’ College, Riverview, sharing their experiences as recent students of the Accelerated Studies of Religion course. The group then broke into HSC Workshops held in two sessions and presented by subject matter experts from across AISNSW.

The cars, which are built to the strict standards for a solar challenge, can take up to six months to design and build and the boys, in Year 9 and 10, have designed and built them during their STEM elective class time assisted by teachers Mr Paul Harkin, Mr Michael Moonen, Mr Paul Monteleone, Mr Richard Steele and Mrs Natasha Shih.
There are three types of competition, the National 100m Sunsprint, a 20m Drag Race and the Solar Pursuit, which is raced on a figure-8 track, and the boys achieved some outstanding results.
Year 10 students Luca and Timothy came fifth overall in the State 100m competition.
In the High School Solar Drag Race, Year 10 students Sam S and Max came second, and Daniel and Sam G (also Year 10) came third.
Finally in the Solar Pursuit, three Year 9 Aloys teams made the podium with Edward and Lucas coming first, Max and Xavier second and Noah and Jordan coming in third!

ABOUT US
St Aloysius’ College lies on the harbour foreshores of Kirribilli, land the
traditional owners once called 'a good fishing place'. The College educates
boys in the Jesuit tradition, forming faith-filled men for others. We are a

Today we stand in footsteps millennia old. Let us begin by acknowledging the
Traditional Owners of the land on which we meet and pray today - the Cammeraygal
people of the Eora nation, who once gathered on these foreshores, which they
called Kirribilli, meaning "the good fishing place". We also pay our respects to
all Elders past and present, whose cultures and customs have nurtured, and
continue to nuture this land, since men and women awoke from the great dream. We
honour the presence of these ancestors who reside in the imagination of this
land and whose spirituality continues to enrich us.
