ABOUT THE AUTHOR

MARLENE BRYENTON



Dr. Marlene Bryenton retired from a 36-year career as an Employment and
Insurance officer, with Service Canada. In 1998 she received the Order of P.E.I.
In 2003, Marlene received an Honourary Doctor of Laws Degree, from the
University of Prince Edward Island. Marlene’s previous books included Anna’s
Pink and Purple Glasses, Jaya’s Magic Wheelchair, and The Magic Toothbrush. This
newest book introduces two exceptional gentlemen and their struggle with
pulmonary fibrosis. Marlene had two stories published in Chicken Soup for the
Soul. Marlene and her husband, Lloyd, live in Charlottetown and have a son and
daughter, and four grandchildren.





ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR

LEANNE BOWLAN



Leanne Bowlan works in the optical industry but has always followed her passion
for art. Recently she explored the craft of children’s book illustration. She
was excited to be asked to illustrate her first book written by Marlene Bryenton
back in 2019. Now the pair has completed three books together. The third book,
The Magic Toothbrush holds a special place in her heart as one of the characters
is her favourite father, Eric Bowlan a.k.a Mr. Magic. “It made illustrating this
book a magical experience for me.” Leanne Bowlan, born in PEI, now resides in
Stratford where she dreams of her next artistic adventure.



ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR

ALLISON WOLVERS



Allison Wolvers, a self-taught artist, hails from Prince Edward Island. For as
long as she can remember, she had a love for designing. During her many years in
the art medium, Allison has studied video-editing, graphic design, modeling, and
then found that digital illustration became one of her favourite passions. With
Allison’s love for study and the challenging projects that she has been involved
in, many different artistic projects have become reality. She then studied Video
Game Art and Animation. Courses on figure-drawing continued to instill her love
for what she does!

Allison created a Magic Toothbrush animated video using Marlene’s storybook
illustrated by Leanne Bowlan and illustrated The Magic Gift.





ABOUT THE EDITOR

JUDY PARSONS

Judy Parsons was born in Nova Scotia, raised in Newfoundland, then chose
beautiful Prince Edward Island, as home, in 1997. She is a Chaplain for the past
15 years, so given many writing opportunities, within this career. Judy had
taught Primary School for over 20 years. Her engagement with inquisitive minds
and insightful questions, of her students, paired well with her delight, at the
opportunity to edit this storybook. She has a love for travel, and expanding her
horizons, beyond serving on many Boards and Committees, at home. Judy is mother
to three grown children, and Grandmother of six. She knows this book will offer
a well written glimpse, into an everyday experience, through the eyes of a
child. Judy published her own book in 2021, telling her life story.
