MICRON AND INTEL: COLLABORATION TO ADVANCE THE INDUSTRY

The Intel and Micron collaboration prioritizes and enables best-in-class user
experiences across key client and data center platforms. Together we validated
the 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor family with Micron DDR51,2 and
storage technologies which enable our customers – from client to cloud – to
quickly and efficiently generate insights from data.

MICRON DDR5: THE MEMORY TECHNOLOGY FOR NEXT-GENERATION INTEL SERVER PLATFORMS

Intel has announced the latest generation of servers featuring 4th Gen Intel®
Xeon® Scalable processors. These processors will power a new generation of
servers for mission-critical enterprise and cloud workloads which benefit from

MICRON DDR5 AND INTEL BOOST PERFORMANCE FOR AI INFERENCE

Micron DDR5 in a dual socket server using Intel® Xeon® Platinum 8490H-60C
processor with Intel® AMX achieves 7x1 gain for image classification used in
computer vision when compared with DDR4 and 3rd Gen Intel® Xeon® Platinum 8380
processor. The Micron DDR5 and 4th Gen Intel Xeon server is capable of
annotating and labeling over 14,000 samples inferenced per second.

1 Benchmarks were performed by Micron’s Data Center Workload Engineering (DCWE)
team in collaboration with Intel. DDR4 and DDR5 systems populated with 64GB
RDIMMs in a one DIMM per channel (1DPC) configuration for a total of 1TB. Both
systems were configured using the same software stack Alma Linux 9 (Kernel
5.14).

achieved using Micron DDR5 in a Dell PowerEdge R760 server testing standardized
benchmarks for SAP HANA® workloads for dataset sizes 2.6, 3.9 and 6.5 billion
records.
