thinking about what the world will look like when you are older, what decisions
we are making now that impact your future. I was raised by my badass mama as she
was taught by native teachers and friends that we must always be looking seven
generations ahead, and so I do this as well. I know that the fight for our
planet cannot be divorced from our fight for justice, humanity, and the end of
all oppression. Racial justice is environmental justice, is gender justice, is
freedom... we are all harmed by the violence of white supremacist patriarchal
capitalist colonialism and none of us will survive until we divest from white
failurism. Being vegan won’t do it, putting women in politics won’t do it,
fighting for gay marriage won’t do it, having a Black president won’t do it.
Abolition is the only way out, and I dream those visionary dreams for you, Nava
bird... and for all the mamas who have lost their babies and all the babies who
have lost their fathers and for everyone and everything struggling under the
same oppressive system. We fight, on Earth Day, for the planet, yes, AND for all
beings on the planet to live and breathe and thrive... and so it is✨🌀 🌍 💛
