GLYCYRRHIZAE RADIX ET RHIZOME

Warmest greetings! It is the day for <A Week, A Herbs Series> and for the herbs
that we will be introducing this week is Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizome.
 
Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizome also known as “Gan Cao" in Chinese. The function
of Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizome can helps in tonifying the “Pi” & benefit the
"Qi", clearing heat & remove toxins, eliminating phlegm and relieve cough.
 
For the common herbal prescriptions that are using Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizome
is Ji Geng Decoction that mentioned in <Jin Gui Yao Lue>, Ma Xing Shi Gan
Decoction and Jiu Gan Cao Decoction that mentioned in <Shang Han Lun> and many
more.
 
Also, we don’t encourage self-medication and it is always advisable to consult a
certified TCM practitioner for such medication or visit the practitioners at
UTAR T&CM centre for more information!
