Grind Hard Plumbing Co aren’t exactly strangers to ludicrous custom builds. Some
of you may have encountered the crew behind the Sent & Bent podcast when they
transformed a bright pink Barbie Jeep into a supercharged ATV capable of
clocking 85 MPH; or when they converted a toy Chevy Camaro into an off-roader
and snow kart. Now, they’re back in the viral spotlight with something equally
insane dubbed the “Micro Jet Boat.”

“This is a project that people have been asking for since the beginning — and
it’s going to be amazing,” explained GHPC’s Ethan.

“This is about the coolest thing I’ve ever seen [laughs.]. It’s an itty-bitty,
six-foot [182-centimetre] jet boat hull, and we’re going to put a jet ski engine
in it and then tow it around behind our Barbie Jeep.”

Of course, Ethan and his partner(s) in crime wouldn’t actually get to work on
the Micro Jet Boat until an entire year of procrastinating post-hull delivery.
As we all know, good things don’t just come in small packages. They take time.

The fellas got to work dismantling a neglected Kawasaki Jet Ski lying around the
backyard – because why wouldn’t they have something like that lying around? –
and cleaning out the guts with the intention of repurposing its 100-horsepower
engine. Cue workshop time-lapse.

Without boring you with every single minute detail about designing the bespoke
intake, water flow, soundproofing, and micro seat installation process, the
Grind Hard Plumbing Co team eventually got the damn thing to a point where it
was actually seaworthy. The total weight? An impressively light 254 pounds (115
kilograms).

“Oh my God… I cannot wait to do this more,” said Ethan after shredding the first
proper lake test.

The ensuing reactions from the Grind Hard Plumbing Co associates were of a
similar sentiment.

Suffice it to say, the Micro Jet Boat is probably the second most fun you could
have without wearing trousers (and certainly the most fun you could have without
trousers in public). But there is a nugget of bad news…

Unfortunately, there’s no way in hell something this awesome will ever be
commercially available. At least not in the immediate future. Those of you with
deep pockets could always try sliding into Grind Hard Plumbing Co’s DMs.
