It is also referred as “purification” and more commonly known as “drying”. Desiccant is the media used to capture the water molecules. As a “wet” fluid is passed over the desiccant, the water molecule is attracted to, and captured by the desiccant. After becoming saturated, for it to be reused, it must be reactivated. This process is also known as regeneration. Reactivation or regeneration is the process of driving the adsorbed water molecules from the desiccant. This restores the desiccant’s ability to adsorb.
