🤔 The latest episode of EECO Asks Why celebrates our hero Amanda Prochaska! She
is driven by her personal curiosity and forged an amazing path that she shares
in this fun conversation.  The truth is when Amanda is serving others she is
completely in her happy place! She has a passion for #procurement and that world

🚨🚨Personal post warning!! 🚨🚨 I get LinkedIn is not Facebook so if this
offends you please keep scrolling. Big news for the Grainger family as last
Friday we welcomed the newest member to the crew. Judah Levi came into the world
and he is an absolute blessing. Most know that I'm a 4 time girl dad so having
this little guy join us will test my dad skills and I'm ready for the challenge.
Happy to report that he and mom are doing great and sometimes you just want to
shout to the rooftops when you have life changing news. That is all - no CTA

Is procurement a decision maker??? I love how Karen Blackburn breaks down an
area that I was blind to for years. If you are in sales of any capacity there is
a lesson to be learned here. While making sure your solutions are solving the
problems of your clients do NOT make the mistake and leave out procurement in
the process. It makes me think back to potentially how many PO's went other
directions because I was not serving procurement the way they deserve. 😭 There

Submarines, airplanes and supply chain...oh my! In this powerful hero episode
Karen Blackburn shares about her amazing journey through manufacturing. Having
over 40 years of hands on experience in multiple procurement roles led to a
conversation full of wisdom and truth. Karen started out working for a company
that manufactured submarines for the US Navy. She speaks to many of the lessons
learned there and how they served her well in future positions. From the deep
water to the high skies she also found herself at an aerospace manufacturer. She
currently is the material managers at Dust Solutions, Inc. and the insight
shared about how the world of procurement has shifted was extremely
insightful. Karen shares many of the ways sourcing has evolved and how her role
is completely different now than it was in recent years. In true hero fashion I
got to know what Karen enjoys outside of work and anytime she can find herself

Let's get down to brass tacks on what "value-added" really looks like. In my
sales days I found myself saying value-added a lot. Looking back I would have
been better off taking action on some of these points to bring value instead of
running my mouth. For the anti-video crowd here is how you can take action: 👉
Get creative on delivery and find ways to lower freight costs. This sounds
simple but too often we are so focused on the PO that we miss the opportunity to
offer cost savings to our customer if we just slow down and have the
conversation. 👉 Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) is a great way to bring value
and when done correctly can change the game. Bring value by doing the homework
for your customer and bring them solutions that actually make an impact. When
the right solution meets the customers data magic happens! 👉 Be a data miner!
Help those you are serving understanding what they are buying and why. This may
lead to powerful conversations around behaviors that they may not be aware of
and opportunities that YOU have as the solution provider to bring value. The
