Our aim is in our name. To Break Chains. Chains that have bound generations and communities to cycles of Domestic Abuse, Poverty, Financial Hardship, Poor Quality of Life and Access to Further Education. Improving these spaces will always be at the core of what we do with Sports, Schools and Community Events as the vessels to connect us to our cause. HEAR FROM OUR DIRECTOR. The Education Space is one that is dear to our hearts. We are currently working within Busby Primary School providing our tailored program ‘Iron Sharpens Iron’ and a Breakfast Club. Hear from our Director, Danny Nicholson about why it is important to us. WHAT WE DO SPORTS By hosting various sporting events we will strive to promote Healthy Habits and an active lifestyle. The sporting events will be both competitive and social with a variety of Sports including touch footy, Netball and volleyball and will be open to all levels of experience. We will also introduce sporting clinics as part of our program. EDUCATION Offering before and after school care as well as school holiday programs for young people both within and outside of the school setting, With kids from a multitude of backgrounds and walks of life. It is our hope that we are able to provide them with an outlet in a safe environment. ABILITIES Creating a safe and engaging space for young people with Mental Health disabilities. By hosting these nights we will strive to equip young people with life skills whilst also giving them the opportunity to create healthy relationships with other young people who share the same values and interests. Contact Us AMBASSADORS ATASI LAFAI WALLAROOS RUGBY Breaking Chains would like to introduce our foundation Ambassador and Wallaroo 161, Atasi Lafai. Atasi, affectionately known as Tasi or Darc, is a proud Minto local with a rich playing resume behind her. A product of Sarah Redfern High, the humble lock started playing for the Campbelltown Harlequins before quickly progressing through the ranks to make her Debut for Australia in 2018. Off the field, Atasi has a heart for the people! Regardless of how far she goes, she remains grounded and we are so excited to work with Atasi and give her the space and platform to pass on her knowledge to the next generation of Female Athletes and give back to her Local Community. There is so much to be done and we’re pumped to have Atasi on board to do the job. PAULINE PILIAE RASABALE Breaking Chains would like to introduce our second Ambassador, Wallaroo 181 and NRLW West Tiger 6, Pauline Piliae-Rasabale. A dual code, ball playing, kicking Queen, from Western Sydney, Pauline has an impressive and long list of sporting achievements, from a Netballer to a Wallaroo and now a current West Tiger in the inaugural NRLW West Tigers team. When not in the boots, P is Mum to two active boys and works in Schools to promote Youth Development through sports. Pauline is passionate about seeing young people win and because of this (and much more) we’re so keen to see Pauline jump into a Mentoring role alongside Atasi to pass on her knowledge and skills to the next Gen of Female Athletes.
