<h2 class="text-center">Honda Automotive History:</h2>

<p>Soichiro Honda was born on November 17, 1906, in rural Iwata-gun, Japan. He spent his early childhood helping his father, a blacksmith, with his bicycle repair business. In 1922 he graduated from the Futamata Senior Elementary
School, but Honda had little tolerance for formal education. His first love was motors, and he jumped at every opportunity he had to work with them. </p>
<p>After leaving school Honda began his career as an apprentice auto repairman for Arto Shokai in Tokyo. In 1928 he returned to his hometown as a master mechanic and soon established a branch shop for the firm in Hamamatsu, Japan.
Honda participated in auto races and became interested in cars and motorcycles. Soon he was experimenting with engines, and in 1928 he organized the Tohai Seiki Company to manufacture piston rings, some of which were sold to
Toyota, a major Japanese car manufacturer.</p>
<p><strong>Honda - Humble Beginnings:</strong></p>
<p>In 1948 Honda started producing complete motorcycles as president of the Honda Motor Company. Within a decade Honda was the leading motorcycle manufacturer in the world and had a larger share of the American motorcycle market than
Toyota and Nissan (with its Datsun cars) had in automobiles. Honda's engineering and marketing skills resulted in Honda motorcycles outselling Triumph and Harley Davidson in their respective home markets, and in 1959 Honda Motorcycles
opened its first dealership in the United States.</p>

<p>Honda remained president until his retirement in 1973, but he stayed on as director and was appointed "supreme adviser" in 1983. His status was such that People magazine placed him on their "25 Most Intriguing People of the Year"
list for 1980, dubbing him "the Japanese Henry Ford." Honda turned the company into a billion-dollar multinational corporation that produced the best-selling motorcycles in the world.</p>
<p><strong>Honda - Emerging Car Manufacturer:</strong></p>
<p>In July 1972, Honda introduced the Honda Civic as a two-door model, followed by the three-door hatchback that September. In 1976, having enjoyed great success with the Honda Civic, the Honda Accord Hatchback was introduced. Honda
chose the name Accord to reflect "Honda's desire for accord and harmony between people, society and the automobile.” The Accord has achieved considerable success, especially in the USA, where it was the best-selling Japanese car for
15 years (1982-97), and became the first Japanese-branded vehicle to be manufactured in the US.</p>

Make an appointment HONDA AUTOMOTIVE HISTORY: Soichiro Honda was born on November 17, 1906, in rural Iwata-gun, Japan. He spent his early childhood helping his father, a blacksmith, with his bicycle repair business. In 1922 he graduated from the Futamata Senior Elementary School, but Honda had little tolerance for formal education. His first love was motors, and he jumped at every opportunity he had to work with them. After leaving school Honda began his career as an apprentice auto repairman for Arto Shokai in Tokyo. In 1928 he returned to his hometown as a master mechanic and soon established a branch shop for the firm in Hamamatsu, Japan. Honda participated in auto races and became interested in cars and motorcycles. Soon he was experimenting with engines, and in 1928 he organized the Tohai Seiki Company to manufacture piston rings, some of which were sold to Toyota, a major Japanese car manufacturer. Honda - Humble Beginnings: In 1948 Honda started producing complete motorcycles as president of the Honda Motor Company. Within a decade Honda was the leading motorcycle manufacturer in the world and had a larger share of the American motorcycle market than Toyota and Nissan (with its Datsun cars) had in automobiles. Honda's engineering and marketing skills resulted in Honda motorcycles outselling Triumph and Harley Davidson in their respective home markets, and in 1959 Honda Motorcycles opened its first dealership in the United States. Honda remained president until his retirement in 1973, but he stayed on as director and was appointed "supreme adviser" in 1983. His status was such that People magazine placed him on their "25 Most Intriguing People of the Year" list for 1980, dubbing him "the Japanese Henry Ford." Honda turned the company into a billion-dollar multinational corporation that produced the best-selling motorcycles in the world. Honda - Emerging Car Manufacturer: In July 1972, Honda introduced the Honda Civic as a two-door model, followed by the three-door hatchback that September.
