To be honest, that is something I try not to do. That is not because I am afraid
of the limelight, but because I prefer doing things in the background. I am a go
getter and I work best outside the limelight. I would work hard to make sure
everything is going well and am ok not to get the credit. For example, being
consultants, the first and foremost hurdle we have to encounter at the client
side is to get the required access in their system. I make sure I understand
what the process is and proactively build rapport with the IT and provisioning
guys at the client. I make sure that they have all the information and more to
provision our requests. I reach out to them and acknowledge their workload and
once the requests are provisioned make sure to send a thank you. I keep in touch
with them to maintain the relationship and that ensures that we never have
access or system issues throughout the project. Most of the time my team doesn't
know how I do it, but understand that I can get it done. Same is the case for
any tribal knowledge that we need to perform our product, I make sure that my
team has it.

I think the most probable thing to do is to find out the Root cause of the
delay. To check which area of work did not turn out to be well . Once we know
the root cause, the next step being what suitable measures, we could think of to
make sure we take the preventive steps to avoid any such delay in future, One
such scenario I could think about in my project  is,  client coming up with a
feature change at a very later stage of sprint end. At this moment of time ,
when we are close to the sprint release,  possible measures , we thought of
discussing on the action items with the engineers and come up with suitable
time line or if we could take the feature as an intermediate hotfix after the
current release, so that the current release is not blocked.

In a recent project involving a multi-service platform, we faced a situation
where one of my peers suggested a new feature implementation that relied heavily
on synchronous communication between services. While this approach would have
met the immediate functional requirements, it posed significant risks for system
performance and reliability due to potential bottlenecks and cascading failures.
Recognizing the broader implications, I proposed an asynchronous event-driven
approach using a message queue system. To address this, I organized a series of
cross-functional meetings with our architecture, operations, and QA teams. I
prepared detailed impact analyses, including potential improvements in fault
tolerance and scalability, and shared these insights through a series of
workshops.
Through collaborative discussions, we mapped out the benefits and trade-offs of
both approaches. This inclusive process allowed us to align on a solution that
improved system resilience and performance while also accommodating feedback
from all relevant stakeholders. The asynchronous design ultimately proved to be
more adaptable to our growing needs, and the project was a success with enhanced
system stability and performance.
This experience highlighted the importance of considering cross-functional
impacts and involving diverse perspectives in decision-making, which is crucial
for senior-level roles.

Situation: After completing my bachelor’s degree in business administration, I
applied for a quantitative master’s program in Bologna. Unfortunately, I wasn’t
accepted, missing the cut-off by just one point. The main reason was that my
background in quantitative subjects was insufficient, as my bachelor’s degree
had focused more on business administration.
Action: Despite this setback, I remained committed to my goal of improving my
quantitative skills while continuing to pursue finance. In my master’s program,
I chose as many quantitative courses as possible, and I also participated in
several classes from the Master in Quantitative Finance program. Additionally,
while working as a librarian in the economics library, I had the opportunity to
engage with students and professors from the field, gaining valuable insights
and expanding my knowledge.
Result: My efforts paid off when I wrote a highly quantitative thesis, which was
reviewed by the director of the Master in Quantitative Finance, who served as my
co-examiner. This experience validated my hard work and determination, and
reinforced my belief that with perseverance, curiosity, and a commitment to
continuous improvement, I can achieve any goal I set. Applying for this position
is the next step in pursuing that ambition.
