     WONDERFUL, NEEDS POOL UPGRADES
     
     I love this hotel, the rooms, and location, and have stayed here four times
     in November over the last five years. It is starting to show its wear and
     age mostly at the pool. There is duct tape on the metal handles along
     walkways where it's corroding from the sea air, and the pool water is VERY
     cold. Please consider heating the pool water, it's needed even in Texas.
     Please also consider replacing all the bed pillows every couple of years
     because the ones we had before asking for replacements smelled musty due to
     many guests using them. Please continue to provide free parking in the
     hotel lot, as well. We were disappointed in the breakfast and dinner food
     quality and taste at the hotel's restaurant. I will still definitely return
     due to the location and value.

     DON’T PAY FOR “PARTIAL BAY VIEW”
     
     Overall it was a good hotel. Just wanted to post a review to say not to pay
     extra for a “partial bay view”. It’s misleading and was very disappointing.
     Also, check to see if there is a conference there before booking. If so,
     breakfast and finding parking will be a challenge.

     Parking across a major thoroughfare through South Padre Island to stay at
     this hotel creates a very unsafe and uncomfortable hotel stay. The
     amenities are fabulous, but it’s not worth dealing with the parking.

     SAFETY SHOULD ALWAYS BE TOP PRIORITY
     
     I had a mini getaway planned for my family and at first sight, the hotel
     looked nice. The room was spacious enough for 4. Unfortunately, our ironing
     board was broken and rusted. Upon opening it up, a metal rod shot out and
     badly scratched my inner thigh, (Photos were taken). I decided to call
     Management to replace the ironing board and explained the situation. I was
     asked if I wanted to fill an incident report, which I did. I told the
     assist manager, Vanessa, that I was filing it as a precautionary measure. I
     needed proof in the case that I develop an infection due to the rust on the
     rod. She asked if I needed a band-aid, I thanked her and told her that I
     had my first aid kit with me. I am just grateful that it happened to me and
     not to any of my children. I have no issues paying for a nice room, but
     safety has to be top priority, but in my case, it wasn't. The Courtyard
     South Padre Island by Marriot will not get any business from my family in
     the future. Once again, safety should be their main priority and it
     definitely wasn't.

     The overall experience is good. Spacious rooms, good soundproofing, nice
     bar located in the hotel. Affordable pricing for food and coffee.
     Buffet table breakfast would not recommend. Very poor choice. Very bad
     coffee. Costs $10.
     No sun-beds or umbrellas provided at the beach
     The rooms are poorly maintained. Holes on bed linen, old mattresses,
     complementary coffee impossible to drink, house keeping impossible to reach
     on th phone. After the first night on floor 5, we asked to be moved to
     another room due to very loud machinery sound ( probably coming from the
     roof) they we reluctant at the ch close in desk and the lady sounded
     hostile I didn’t feel valued at that moment.

     EXCELLENT HOTEL.
     
     This is an awesome hotel to stay at in South Padre, especially for a
     conference. The location is right down the street from the convention
     center, and has a great spot on the beach. The quality of the food, drinks,
     and service at Bar Louie and the coffee shop in the lobby are excellent.
     The fitness center is one of the nicest I've seen for a hotel so far and
     had a good variety of equipment. But I have to say what wowed me the most
     was the cleanliness and upkeep of the room. Out of habit, I always wipe
     down my hotel rooms upon arrival and after my initial wipe down - there
     wasn't anything that got picked up on my lysol wipes. Excellent job service

     The location was great. Easy access to the beach. The pool was also nice.
     My only complaint would be for Bar Louie, our food was cold and to pay 60
     dollars for beach chairs (3) and an umbrella is higher than expected
     especially when you're staying at the hotel.
