GOVERNOR NORTHAM ANNOUNCES MI TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS TO EXPAND FACILITY IN
CHESAPEAKE

Office of the Governor - RICHMOND , VA - Jul 2, 2021 - Governor Ralph Northam
today announced that MI Technical Solutions, Inc. (MITS), a small business
government contractor providing information technology services for military
vessels, will invest $520,000 to expand its facility in the City of Chesapeake.
MITS…was recently awarded the 2020 HIRE Vets Medallion by the U.S. Department of
Labor for its efforts to recruit, employ, and retain veterans.

The Department of Labor will begin accepting applications for the 2022 HIRE Vets
Medallion Award on January 31, 2022 View the 2022 timeline. To get started,
select your company size below to view the gold and platinum award criteria or
download a table with all criteria.

 
Small Employer (1-50 Employees)
 
Medium Employer (51-499 Employees)
 
Large Employer (500+ Employees)

Small Employer Requirements Platinum Gold Percentage of new hires who are
veterans 10% 7% OR     Percentage of veterans who were retained 85% 75% AND    
Veteran employee percentage 10% 7% Veteran integration assistance programs

Must have at least TWO of the following:

 * Veteran organization or resource group
 * Leadership program
 * Human resources veterans’ initiative
 * Pay differential program
 * Tuition assistance program
