Too many jobs chasing too few people? With the current tech skill crisis unfolding before us, how does a CIO make sure they have the right team in place to run the technology that’s driving the enterprise forward? As organisations become more digitalized, tech skills for DevOps, Cloud, AI and Cybersecurity become more valuable, with fierce competition for candidates. So, who are the best recruits and where can a CIO find them? Should a CIO hire for new skills, or invest in upskilling? Is now a market that favours the employee? How can a CIO get the right people and right skills in the organisation, within the means they have to work with? This begs the questions: Is the crisis greater in some tech sectors and less in others? What can be done to resolve this? Has the industry created its own problems with an ever-growing list of tech solutions, with not enough people with the skills to run them? How are other CIOs facing this challenge handling this? What ideas do you have that you need feedback on? This session will cover: * Which people will bring the most value * Broadening your horizons on who to recruit * How to build strength through diversity * How to make the most from your budget * Sharing ideas with peers, facing the same challenges as yourself Join us on September 23rd for the next CIO Crowd community discussion about the tech skills crisis.
