Practical course on scaling Scrum
John gives lots of insight and shares his own real-world experiences. His course
was engaging and practical. I really enjoyed how he combined other facets to
compliment the course such as Kanban, Lean, LeSS, Flight Levels and references
to others in the community and their material. Would definitely take more
courses from him again and recommend him to others.

Overall Amazing!
John explained everything clearly and was able to make understanding scrum easy.

Really enjoyed John's teaching style…
Really enjoyed John's teaching style and activities on the Scrum Master course
at the University of Westminster. Lots of experienced knowledge sharing with
humor making the learning memorable and easy to apply. Followed up with the
practice readiness calls allowed to build confidence in what you needed to
prepare for the final assessment. Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed it
I really enjoyed the course and how John has structured it, he is very attentive
to his student's needs. You learn scrum and agile through practical examples,

I recently attended the Professional…
I recently attended the Professional Scrum Master training facilitated by John
Coleman. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have learnt a lot. His
interactive scenarios were great and his wealth of knowledge he shared I will
take with me in my role as a Scrum master. John you are a great teacher, and we
had a few laughs as well that made the whole experience a joy!!!

Excellent training
John Coleman is an excellent coach and trainer and I would recommend him without
hesitation. I attended his PSM II training and the assessment readiness call and
not only was I extremely well prepared to pass the PSM II exam quickly and
easily, but I learned so much of value that was immediately applicable to my
work as an Agile Coach, and was introduced to new ideas, tools and books to
explore as a next step. He customises trainings/exam prep sessions to the needs
of the attendees and has a wealth of experience and up-to-date knowledge to
share with his students to make the training relevant and engaging. Highly

I successfully passed the PSPO exam…
I had the privilege to have undertaken the PSPO course accredited by Scrum.org
with John Coleman. It was a great learning and experiment session. The real-time
examples and scenarios made the sessions more interactive and interesting to
learn. John Coleman does a phenomenal job at organizing the PSPO course to keep
everyone fully engaged. Really enjoyed and learned a lot about Scrum world in 3
days. He's very humorous and was generous in sharing his experience. He also
recommended some great books. I successfully passed the PSPO exam big thanks for
the support and mentoring provided by John. I thoroughly recommend the course.

A wonderful experience
John is a great trainer and a fantastic person. He truly wants to teach, explain
and create new Scrum ambassadors. He has a natural aptitude for passing down

PSM II online class
I did an online training for PSM II course and the flow, topics, techniques used
by John really helped to keep it engaging and focused. It was inspiring to
witness John's passion for the agile world, and it was insightful, since we
talked a lot about real-life problems and different ways to approach them.
Overall, it was wonderful training that brought a lot of benefits and encouraged
me to keep getting better while keeping the humbleness that John still shows
after all the years of experience. Recommend it to everyone who wants great
learning experience!

the ability and experience to run courses with a Mural Board and no presentation
material. John puts emphasis on individuals & interactions, over processes &
tools, by sharing and enabling participants to share their practical
experiences, also thanks to spot-on exercises. The PSM II advanced course
touched topics, scenarios and use-cases related to the ordinary and
extraordinary life of a Scrum Master e.g., who wants to use empirical &

yet focus on their responsibilities and accountabilities, as well as on their

Rewarding class
I liked the way this class is organized. Instead of going through all
theoretical aspects, we, class attendants, are requested to go through some
guides before hand so that the class can focus on the practical aspects and be
more interactive. I really liked this model. It really allows to optimize the
time we had with John with very nice exercices and discussions. Also, the
session dedicated to prepare the exam are very useful. I highly recommend this
class.

Freshen up my PO skills
I wanted to freshen up my PO skills given that the last Scrum PSPO I certificate
I earned was in 2017. I had attended John Coleman classes before and I love his
way of teaching so I gladly sign up for this. I was not disappointed, John
covered brilliantly all the aspects of what it is to be a product owner, it was
a great exercise for me to establish and confirm the skills I have.

Though I have working experience in Agile, the trainer and the training
artefacts provided more insights. Workshops were good and interactive.
Discussion with multiple people provides more exposure. Queries are clarified
with real life examples which was more interesting. One suggestion would be to
include workshop use cases based on the training participants work Industry.

The PSU I course led by John Coleman…
The PSU I course led by John Coleman was great! He guided my cohort through
foundational elements of Scrum as well as the primary roles. John successfully
shared the Lean UX canvas activities in parallel to the Scrum approach. He then
wove the concepts together to educate the cohort on the ability to deliver
successfully with design activities within Scrum process. John was able to guide
my cohort, made of different career types, through questions and scenarios that
improved our understanding of Scrum with UX. John also provided additional
support for concepts we were going to encounter in the assessment, as there is
not a specific practice assessment for the certification. In all the course,
conversations, hands-on activities, and additional information shared by John
made the coursework approachable and practical for use in my work. Thanks John!

Interactive and challenging class
This was an intense but interesting and interactive class. I learnt lot of
greatness in four nights, and got lot of lightbulbs' moment. John Coleman put us
at ease and support us through and communicative environment. The mix of theory
and exercises as a whole group, or small teams was a good balance to remain
engaged with the intense program.

Safe and Inclusive
Really enjoyed learning with John. Even in a virtual environment, he made
participation feel safe and inclusive. I've always found virtual training quite
tiring and draining, however, even thought I was tied by the end of each day, I
found my energy and focus throughout the course high and sharp and Joh must take
the credit for this.

Professional Scrum Master class - PSM I Certification
The session was an eye opener, John had simplified the Scrum concepts and made
it easier and relatable. Had an exclusive session with him on the Kanban and
played a game which was so helpful to understand the purpose and will surly help
me in the implementation of the learning confidently and also help my team to
deliver Value. Also appreciate the efforts/inputs provided during the
preparation and practice sessions for the test.

Hands down brilliant, would have given it 6 out of 5 stars if I could
The course was brilliant. John Coleman is a super knowledgeable and engaging
training, providing a safe, interesting and dynamic learning environment. I'm a
natural note taker and I took a tonne of notes and I'm not even sure how I
managed that as we had fluid conversation throughout the entire course. I really
recommend John's training to all Agile Coaches and Product Owners.

Filled with real world nuggets
The class John Coleman gave certainly exceeded my expectations. He was able to
guide me towards knowledge, both his own and many resources that were hugely
useful on my journey towards being a better, more questioning Agilist. His after
class support is great and he responded quickly and in depth to reaching out to
him. I had to tell him that on starting my new role I was very well prepared as
a situation I encountered was a situation he had posted to us in class almost
verbatim. Using some of his phrases and approaches, thanks John, has resulted in
very positive results for me.

Really valuable for Scrum Masters
In this training, we experienced all the stages of Lean UX from product
definition to value validation, through engaging workshops and examples. I
discovered that UX covers a much wider range of activities than I already
thought. As a Scrum Master, I found this training really valuable in my
understanding of what UX entails and how it can help the Product Owner to
maximize and validate value. Having this knowledge helps me better serve the
Product Owner and the Developers. John Coleman is a great trainer with a vast
body of knowledge. His dry sense of humour and calm personality set the stage
for an engaging training. If I would have to nitpick on one thing that could
improve, it would be the relatively small number of other attendants. Maybe
because people were on Christmas holiday? One of the things I enjoy most about
going to a training course is learning from the other students' experiences and
their success stories and struggles. All in all I would definitely recommend
going to this training.

Excellent insights into Product Ownership
Excellent training delivered by John Coleman. He brings not only the
methodological expertise, but also his experience at applying the framework in
different contexts and using the correct tools to support it. The course is

Really enjoyed the training with John! He is an very engaged trainer, giving
lots of insights from his practical experience. It was amazing to see John's
engagement on preparing his students for the PSM II assessment after the
two-days training. One small thing that could be improved is the time boxing as
students might have other appointments after the training.

Really good!
The training followed interactive and modern learning strategies. Instead of
boring, hard-to-remember lectures, John helped us to bring out, consolidate and
apply our experiential knowledge about Scrum with UX. I expected nothing less
from this great Scrum trainer! Johns training improved my practice as a Scrum
Master. Now, I am feeling very comfortable in helping Scrum Teams to apply UX
within Scrum to create more value for their customer!

Enjoyable and useful class
I enrolled to get PSMI, a new world for me, required on my customer's projects.
So I run into John's class. And per other reviews, he won't disspaoint you. He
is a great teacher and mentor. Training sessions were interactive and made us
think beyond what could be expected. A mix of theory but also role playing, team
working and brainstorming. He is commited to making people change their
mentality, enjoying the Scrum world and dive deep with many recommendations. New
favorite!

Great experience
I took a PSPO class with John Coleman and it exceeded my expectations. Not only
did he provided useful learning material and guidance, but also made sure to
offer make up sessions in case someone could not join for some reason. He also
took the time to go over different type of assessments available so we could
prepare for the exam. I would highly recommend everyone to take this class with

Great community and mentoring experience
I can only recommend the PSPO course guided by John Coleman. He is very
experienced agility chef, not only guiding you through theory, but also using
funny exercises and real life use cases during whole course. John is simply a
person who inspires you to practice agility and gives you different angles to
see complex situations and initiatives. I really appreciate the possibility to
take the course online during covid-19 pandemic and maybe it resulted even
better than the class on site.

I've attended the PSU course with John Coleman. John is an inspiration, an
excellent trainer. He is a very well connected professional who has extensive

The content of the PAL-E course is…
The content of the PAL-E course is really interesting, it adds a lot of value to
the PSM training. Also John Coleman is a great teacher. He is like a living book
and loves to share his knowledge. He also provides a lot of example from his

PSPO I workshop, Bucharest March 2020
I attended the PSPO I workshop with John Coleman on 2-3 March 2020. The workshop
was packed with practical exercises right from the start. I enjoyed the teaching
style where we worked in small groups but each member of the group had an
opportunity to voice their opinion by working first individually and then
discussing together. The content of the workshop was well structured and there
was a nice balance between exercises, breaks, and video breaks related to topics
discussed. Taking this class is a very good introduction to the topic of Product
Ownership, but from my point of view it is not enough to be fully prepared for
the exam.

The PSK training made up by John is excellent
The PSK training made up by John is excellent. He points out all the strengths
and advantages of using Kanban within Scrum. As usual for John, the preparation
of the teaching environment is optimal and effective. John is prepared and
knowledgeable. I strongly recommend John to anyone who wants to learn "things
beyond the book" and having a detailed view and understanding of the Kanban with
Scrum topic.

John created a great learning environment for myself and my colleagues. His
teaching style ensured that we were fully engaged with each topic and he made
sure that all of our questions were always answered to our satisfaction. He took

Practical course on scaling Scrum
John gives lots of insight and shares his own real-world experiences. His course
was engaging and practical. I really enjoyed how he combined other facets to
compliment the course such as Kanban, Lean, LeSS, Flight Levels and references
to others in the community and their material. Would definitely take more

Overall Amazing!

Really enjoyed John's teaching style and activities on the Scrum Master course
at the University of Westminster. Lots of experienced knowledge sharing with
humor making the learning memorable and easy to apply. Followed up with the

I recently attended the Professional…

Excellent training
John Coleman is an excellent coach and trainer and I would recommend him without
hesitation. I attended his PSM II training and the assessment readiness call and
not only was I extremely well prepared to pass the PSM II exam quickly and
easily, but I learned so much of value that was immediately applicable to my
work as an Agile Coach, and was introduced to new ideas, tools and books to
explore as a next step. He customises trainings/exam prep sessions to the needs
of the attendees and has a wealth of experience and up-to-date knowledge to

I successfully passed the PSPO exam…
I had the privilege to have undertaken the PSPO course accredited by Scrum.org
with John Coleman. It was a great learning and experiment session. The real-time
examples and scenarios made the sessions more interactive and interesting to
learn. John Coleman does a phenomenal job at organizing the PSPO course to keep
everyone fully engaged. Really enjoyed and learned a lot about Scrum world in 3
days. He's very humorous and was generous in sharing his experience. He also
recommended some great books. I successfully passed the PSPO exam big thanks for
the support and mentoring provided by John. I thoroughly recommend the course.

A wonderful experience

PSM II online class
I did an online training for PSM II course and the flow, topics, techniques used
by John really helped to keep it engaging and focused. It was inspiring to
witness John's passion for the agile world, and it was insightful, since we
talked a lot about real-life problems and different ways to approach them.
Overall, it was wonderful training that brought a lot of benefits and encouraged

Rewarding class
I liked the way this class is organized. Instead of going through all
theoretical aspects, we, class attendants, are requested to go through some
guides before hand so that the class can focus on the practical aspects and be
more interactive. I really liked this model. It really allows to optimize the
time we had with John with very nice exercices and discussions. Also, the
session dedicated to prepare the exam are very useful. I highly recommend this

Freshen up my PO skills
I wanted to freshen up my PO skills given that the last Scrum PSPO I certificate
I earned was in 2017. I had attended John Coleman classes before and I love his
way of teaching so I gladly sign up for this. I was not disappointed, John
covered brilliantly all the aspects of what it is to be a product owner, it was

The PSU I course led by John Coleman was great! He guided my cohort through
foundational elements of Scrum as well as the primary roles. John successfully
shared the Lean UX canvas activities in parallel to the Scrum approach. He then
wove the concepts together to educate the cohort on the ability to deliver
successfully with design activities within Scrum process. John was able to guide
my cohort, made of different career types, through questions and scenarios that
improved our understanding of Scrum with UX. John also provided additional
support for concepts we were going to encounter in the assessment, as there is
not a specific practice assessment for the certification. In all the course,
conversations, hands-on activities, and additional information shared by John
made the coursework approachable and practical for use in my work. Thanks John!

Interactive and challenging class
This was an intense but interesting and interactive class. I learnt lot of
greatness in four nights, and got lot of lightbulbs' moment. John Coleman put us

Really enjoyed learning with John. Even in a virtual environment, he made
participation feel safe and inclusive. I've always found virtual training quite
tiring and draining, however, even thought I was tied by the end of each day, I
found my energy and focus throughout the course high and sharp and Joh must take

Filled with real world nuggets
The class John Coleman gave certainly exceeded my expectations. He was able to
guide me towards knowledge, both his own and many resources that were hugely
useful on my journey towards being a better, more questioning Agilist. His after
class support is great and he responded quickly and in depth to reaching out to
him. I had to tell him that on starting my new role I was very well prepared as
a situation I encountered was a situation he had posted to us in class almost
verbatim. Using some of his phrases and approaches, thanks John, has resulted in
very positive results for me.

Really valuable for Scrum Masters
In this training, we experienced all the stages of Lean UX from product
definition to value validation, through engaging workshops and examples. I
discovered that UX covers a much wider range of activities than I already
thought. As a Scrum Master, I found this training really valuable in my
understanding of what UX entails and how it can help the Product Owner to
maximize and validate value. Having this knowledge helps me better serve the
Product Owner and the Developers. John Coleman is a great trainer with a vast
body of knowledge. His dry sense of humour and calm personality set the stage
for an engaging training. If I would have to nitpick on one thing that could
improve, it would be the relatively small number of other attendants. Maybe
because people were on Christmas holiday? One of the things I enjoy most about
going to a training course is learning from the other students' experiences and
their success stories and struggles. All in all I would definitely recommend
going to this training.

The training followed interactive and modern learning strategies. Instead of

Enjoyable and useful class
I enrolled to get PSMI, a new world for me, required on my customer's projects.
So I run into John's class. And per other reviews, he won't disspaoint you. He
is a great teacher and mentor. Training sessions were interactive and made us

Great community and mentoring experience
I can only recommend the PSPO course guided by John Coleman. He is very
experienced agility chef, not only guiding you through theory, but also using
funny exercises and real life use cases during whole course. John is simply a

I attended the PSPO I workshop with John Coleman on 2-3 March 2020. The workshop
was packed with practical exercises right from the start. I enjoyed the teaching
style where we worked in small groups but each member of the group had an
opportunity to voice their opinion by working first individually and then
discussing together. The content of the workshop was well structured and there
was a nice balance between exercises, breaks, and video breaks related to topics
discussed. Taking this class is a very good introduction to the topic of Product
Ownership, but from my point of view it is not enough to be fully prepared for
the exam.
